There are people over on RedCafe who think United is going to sell over 52M in Pogba shirts within a couple weeks. Apparently they collect the entire profit too. So shirt sales will actually pay for the Pogba transfer before the season even starts
Each shirt goes for 90 Usd or 80 euros. So 52M euros would mean 650k shirts sold. Not a far fetched number imo. Those shirts are gonna sell like hotcakes in Asia with all the plastic fans that jump on the bandwagon of the most expensive transfer.

The Man U marketing hype machine is gonna go in override mode once Pogba signs. If Pogba and Man U are successful on the pitch I can see him become one of the most popular sportsman in the world. But that's a big if.

They get a fixed amount for their shirt sales and Adidas makes the rest. So it actually is impossible.

adidas will only profit of that because United gets a fixed fee from adidas each year, their fee doesent depend on how much shirts they sell

Man U shirt with a name and number goes for fare more than that, it's the most expensive shirt there is. But don't think they recoup any of that money, it goes to Adidas.
