In the period 2006 to 2012, I believe Buffon was making 6 million euros per season, no? He now earns 4 million, as he agreed to a paycut in 2012.
I'm by no means a financial experd, but I know that football has evolved commercially in the last 10 years (+ our revenue is continously growing), and I'm thinking that if we could afford putting one player on 6 million euros almost 10 years ago, we should strongly consider putting Pogba on 8-10 million at this moment in time in order for him to be kept at the club.
After Ronaldo and Messi, he's the biggest star in world football, and he's gonna bring us so many fans, sell so many jerseys, and be a huge PR investment for this club for many years.
Break the god damned bank to keep Pogba here, is what I'm saying.
Real could probably offer 12, though, but I think he would rather stay at the club he loves for 10 million than go to Real for just a couple of million more.
As for the other players in our squad who wouldn't earn close to this much; I'm sure all of them would understand and accept that some special players must earn more. It was accepted in the past with Buffon, so why not again?
