I seem to remember Mikel saying United forced him to sign a contract or something like that. Also cherry picked a couple of Italians before they could sign professional contracts.

Last summer they tried to sign 5 players from Fiorentina's Berretti team at the same time, but only one - Pierluigi Gollini - actually joined them.
