The 2006 Champions' League Final will take place at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris, UEFA have confirmed.

Fifty years after the first European Cup Final - between Real Madrid and Stade de Reims - took place in the Parc des Princes, Europe's biggest club game will return to the French capital.

The Stade de France has already hosted one Champions' League Final, Madrid's 3-0 win over Valencia in 2000.

The 2007 finale will take place in Athens.

Meanwhile, next year's UEFA Cup Final will be in Eindhoven, with Glasgow hosting the game the following season.

That's not a bad location at all. If I'm in England, Germany, or Italy next year I might just try and get tickets. Good thing it's not in Istanbul next year.

Is it worse than the Delle Alpi?
IMO, no. And at least you can get to it on the Paris Metro system.

Though driving would be a mess. I had a hard enough time driving from a meeting in Levallois-Perret to the Charles de Gaulle airport while a France WC 2002 qualifier was about to start. The northern Paris "beltway" before you get on the A1 was a complete mess.

I wouldnt say there is alot of difference between a packed delle alpi and a packed stade de france.

At mosphere is better in turin... But in general the seating is slightly better in paris... eg. theres more seats with a good view.
Delle alpi you need to get the right seats
Plus paris is abit more travel friendly

Well the travel issue certainly sounds better.

And correct me if I'm wrong but the Stade de France does not have a track around it like the Delle Alpi, so the seats would be a bit closer to the pitch.

Quite the opposite, Stade de France *does* have an athletics track. It's not a cozy stadium, it's a giant. Less seats than Camp Nou but I'll bet it's bigger in diameter, certainly feels that way at least.

Its a little sad I think, perhaps I am biased because I live here in the UK, but what would you of perfered to play if you were a player in the Stadio de France (which is a very good Stadium) or the new Wembley stadium which was turned down for the bid?

Well, its the "Wembley" stadium, which always used to host the FA Cup Final and all the old England International games, they have been re-building it, from what I have seen it looks amazing. It certain cost alot, there is one thing you can say about Brits they absolutely suck at building things "under" budget!

Oh well... I think you'll struggle to find a continental who even knows what it looks like.

Just to respond to your "perhaps biased because I'm British" line ;)

Not really, I'm not a huge fan of it because of what always used to happen, see Wembley is in London and all Man Utd players used to be boo'ed when they played for England, but it is a magnificent stadium when it will be built, its just unfortuante WHERE it is built. Erik, your smart you should try and find a picture of it (the new one) and have a look.
