So where are people like this acquiring assault rifles and bombs in a country like france? How are they able to plan and execute such a successful attack if they are just deranged psychopaths with no affiliations or outside support?

Define support. For example a question might be, Can you sympathise with isis' motives? many people can say yes without supporting them if that makes sense.
no, it doesn't but keep throwing shite against the wall - I am sure something will stick, eventually ;)

That's a lot more than I would have rationally have expected, I would want to see the questions asked and the methodology before I accept that as true representation, surgery data is often corrupt. But going with this as true, it's only a hundredth of all Muslims in the world at the upper estimate of loosest level of support, which isnt clearly defined. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

this is about being naive and misled.
not about being insane.
You have a fairly shit opinion of humanity if you think tonight is the act of sane men.

level of rationale was set by the original statement ... and even then was exceeded.
So you are saying the results of a survey cannot be skewed due to the questions asked? Sure if the survey was do you support Isis, yes or no, then its pretty black and white, however I highly doubt the questions were that clear cut. But sure you can keep throwing around pointless backhanded statements.

Obviously I don't think 42 million actually support every aspect of ISIS and what they are doing... But even reducing that number to a couple million poses a massive threat and problem. There are somewhere between 30,000 and 100,000 ISIS fighters... plus those in foreign countries who have tried to emigrate. The establishment of a Caliphate means it is required of all Islamic people in the world to move there and live under its rule. Of course, many don't believe in the legitimacy of the Caliphate, but many do, and large numbers arrive every day. So assuming, about 75,000 ISIS fighters, I think it's pretty safe to assume quite a large number of supporters backing that group.

Look they probably do have quite a bit of support, I was just saying the numbers stated in that article are probably skewed.

:agree: working in PR will make you suspicious of any survey data, I refuse to use it on principle.

:agree:

Otherwise we must take issue with the sanity of a large percentage of the world throughout human history. It's ridiculous to say that only the psychopathic commits such acts, when all evidence throughout human history suggests such barbaric acts are most often committed by ordinary people.

100% agree with you. Any way you look at it, it's a rather terrifying expression of literal Islam.
