Thanks for the reminder it started Alex  tuning in now.

Thierry Henry is boring coach lol. All the notable big talents for France or benched. Cherki, Kalimuendo, Akliouche and the big wonderkid Desirè Douè.

2 getting benched I get, but not all of them lol

Mateta feasting on Olise service.

It's shocking it's still 1 nil. France dominating so much. They should be up atleast 3.
I'm actually surprised how poor Argentina have been so far, on paper a more experienced and balanced side. France haven't really impressed me all that much in this tournament till now, but I've put that down more to Henry being an average coach/manager

I'm liking this Medina kid, otherwise yeah this Argie side look super average.

Yeah my brother watched all of France games and he been complaining about how inconsistent Henry's coaching has been.

But this France side looks quite talented.

Medina has been pretty decent for a while, Almada really needs to get on the ball more if Argentina are to stand any chance

Well deserved. It's a shame that they are allowing him to play in the first place.
Frankly I think pretty much everyone talking about it is insanely stupid.

He was convicted and he did his time in jail. A court looked at the case in question and punished him knowing all the details of the case.

Exclusion from the Olympics was not part of that punishment.

Neither do the rules from the sports organizations or the IOC prevent him from taking part. They could change those rules, but they haven't.

I understand his case may evoke all sorts of feelings. But really, it's not up to any of us to administer some sort of additional civil punishment just so we can feel better about ourselves. And it's ridiculously hypocritical as well, when half this forum is still cheering for Fagioli.

There's a very, very large difference between raping a child and gambling.

Fagioli didn't just gamble.

I don't like the Dutch guy. No one does. But that does not mean I get to disrespect his right to play.

Whilst I get your point, there are levels between supporting a footballer with a gambling addiction to a child rapist

We're fine with some crimes, but not with others?

It's ridiculous.

It's like thieves and murderers raping pederasts to feel better about themselves.

Ffs man, he raped a child. Went to prison, too short stint for my liking, but ok comes out, and instead of go by his days quietly, he bizzarely gets to represent his nation in the biggiest sporting event on the planet. Like its bussiness as usual.

Fuck him, and anyone who OKed the idea of allowing him to compete.

It should not be hard to disallow litteral child rapists from competing in Olympics.

He should of lost his right to live when he decided to rape a child... Never mind play.
Yes, you could have a society that has a death penalty for statutory rape.

But the UK does not.

Part of having a lawful state is also accepting punishments that are in line with the laws of the land.

Put it this way, id rather be convicted as a thief or an illegal gambler than to be a murderer or child rapist.

If I'm not mistaken the Dutch athlete only served a year of his sentence which I disagree with.

He should definitely be banned from the Olympics because there are athletes under 18 competing, and he is a convicted sex offender. These young athletes need protection.

My point is they haven't disallowed it.
