If we manage to sell Quag, Vucinic, and Gio for a combined total of say like about 20m and we get osvaldo for 15m and we do indeed switch formations how is that bad?
Buying backup strikers for 15m+ when you have other pressing needs is good ? And it really is a big if that we're going to fetch 20m out of those three..Vucinic and Quag will have expiring contracts and for all we know Gio could be sold on a co-own too,one cant say for sure.

Maybe, maybe not. If we can get him for just under 15M, I'd be down with that.
Too much for a bench player who's not gonna get much playing time IMO.

If we don't buy Osvaldo who can we bring in as a back up cf who could be as useful as him?

It's not spending 15mln. We're selling Mirko/Quag which will fund their replacement.

It's not a straight 15mln euros investment even if it happens.

That doesn't make sense. We'd still be spending 15M on Osvaldo.

That's like saying selling Pogba for 60M and getting Lavezzi and Di Maria for 30M each means we got them for free.

Err..someone cheaper.Or i might as well keep Vucinic.Thats a big amount we're blowing on a bench player when we need to use that money on perhaps a LB/LWB or a winger.
Look at it from this point of view. Lets say that Conte does indeed plan on playing a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 whatever formation it maybe(one with only one cf). Do we really need llorente, quag, vucinic and osvaldo? No we would only need 2. Llorente and vice-cf(osvaldo). So if we manage to get back the money invested for osvaldo its a fair trade and we could use the left over money and the summer budget to invest else where.

Ok,lets talk hypothetically for a second here. What if this deal(buyout) means not enough money for a winger for instance ? What would you do ?

Let's say that we don't (which we'll surely won't). What then? Spend more money on other bench forwards?

It's not the same as buying Osvaldo just for the sake of it and without sell any of our players. When we're looking how much we actually spent we always look how much money we got from sales.

We're not going to sell Quag and Mirko in order to finance a winger. If we are selling them it just means we're looking to buy a striker.

So even hypothetically it's not possible to consider such thing.

The point still remains that spending 15M on Osvaldo is just silly business, even if we sell Quag for 30M. I thought that much was obvious.

Our net expenditure was next to nothing last summer to give you some perspective.

Name me some striker who'd you like to have who'd cost 12mln and who would accept being a 3rd striker. Please.
