Yes, yes and yes. Bring this guy over here. We'll sell deadwoods like Quag in the summer.
You'd be ok buying Osvaldo for 15m? His price tag alone in the situation would make him an expensive, unnecessary mistake. The best thing we can do right now is have Vucinic and Quag stay. The summer is a different proposition altogether.

Looks like Conte has lost all hope with the other attackers.
Either that, or he has settled on a starting pair that brings maximum balance and compatibility.

If we're willing to drop 15M on Osvaldo I swear to God we better have at least double that ready for the Summer. Without taking into account player sales.
This is becoming a bit of a worrying sign now. The pattern is clearly slipping into a sort of vicious cycle with such deals. This 15m could and should certainly have been better spent. What's to say Jojo for example, wouldn't be available in the summer for 22m? Would we not spend that money on a younger player with arguably more potential and compatibility in the set up we are intending? Its a hypothetical situation, admittedly, but mot far beyond the realm of reality, mseeing how stacked city are. These Osvaldo type deals are far too short sighted, and it's worrying me that we aren't considering European competition when spending money like this. In no way is this an improvement over the departing player, and if anything, we'd be stronger if Vucinic stayed on.

sell deadwood and replace them with expensive deadwood
Exactly.

Yep, I think Conte has lost all confidence in those players, as we saw vs Roma, we suck without Llorente and Tevez, we'd be in a mess if either of those got injured. Bringing in Osvaldo who Conte will manage down to a t, is a very good move.
You can't lose confidence in players you don't give continuity to. The roles of these players are not as starters, or as a second playing eleven. The roles of these players are to fill need gaps in the first team, in ones and twos while playing the first team and not as an entire second string playing unit. Let me also remind you, that all of these players or at least most of them have played a very important part in Conte's success at the club in the previous two seasons.

Fuck it. Forza Osvlado!

I don't care, let him have fights. At least he'll show good stuff on field, unlike our 3 bench warmers.

In all seriousness, I really think he won't make a lot of trouble here. He never did much of shit at Roma too.

Also, I highly doubt we can find a better striker to be our 3rd choice. He's way better than Floccari, Gilardino, Pazzini and others.
I'd much rather have Gila or Pazzini on a six month loan to be honest. Maybe, even Matri. Osvaldo opinion the short term for 1.5m loan is a good fix, but a 15m purchase in the long term, is not a step forward, under any circumstances.

What a joke. Then we have Conte saying that we can't compete with other top teams and we go out paying €15M for fucking Osvaldo who we don't need right now.

You guys seriously overrate Conte's managing skills. Which players who had character problems did he manage to "control" in his career?
Are you guys comparing Licht to this joke of a player? Licht never went against his club and punched his team mates while playing for them.
Me too, I just can't stand people saying shit they have no idea of. "Conte could manage that guy" and "Conte would set the other guy straight", when in actual reality, he haven't had the chance to prove that in his career.

Osvaldo is good player, but paying €15M for him when our club always loves to mention that we can't compete with other top clubs financially seems contradicting for someone we don't actually need.
I think more than Conte, it's just that the club is bigger than the individuals here. Our focus always remains on the collective, and since this is arguably the biggest club that Osvaldo is going to play at in his career, he's going to have no option but to put his head down and work his way up. There is a little bit of awe involved when you play for a European powerhouse. I definitely think he's going to tow the line better than he has done elsewhere. And I agree, that we have no right to mention that we can't compete with top clubs if we go ahead with a deal like this.

I don't think it'll be 2M loan + 13M in the summer.

And even if it, its most likely a payment plan that suits us.

When dealing with superstars I think people tend to forget that in this market they would cost 5x that amount, crazy salaries, more cash upfront, etc. etc.
We don't have to deal with superstars. But I'd much rather hold that 15m and invest 10m more on a Jackson Martinez type of player. Maybe not necessarily Martinez, but players in that mould. I don't have anything against the player per se, but a signing like this just doesn't align with the view that the team is growing and looking to compete on a higher level.

Southampton actually bought Osvaldo for €15M. 6 months after they could be able to offload him for the same price despite the fact that he hasn't performed.
18m iirc. But I could be wrong about this, and mixing it up with what Roma paid for him. Its strange if we don't get a discount on that 15m, but seeing howmthemmarket goes, I don't think we'll get much of a concession.

We have won 2 leagues with Quag and 1 with Giovinco. By no means I'm not saying they're good enough for us, but why now? This would have made more sense had we still been in the CL.

Aren't most hoping for a good run in the EL Klin?

Furthermore, we have some tough games coming up, mostly all away from home, would you be confident going into those games without Tevez or Llorente? I wouldn't.
We arent going to spend 15m to win a tournament that will give us the prize money of maybe half that amount.

Probable

Mirko and Quag out

Osvaldo and Gabbiadini IN

- SKY
Signing the scudetto away IMO. I don't agree with such mid season moves at all.

Quag and his agent are both morons. New Iaquinta.
Shut up.

Osvaldo is a rebel troublemaker. Cassano style.
Without Cassano's ability.

Everyone denied that Quag for Manolo will happen...i would love to,but not so sure about the deal really happening...
Samp can't afford Quags salary.

:D :D Jojo scored a beauty for City today too :klin:
Beauty. Was a deflection. :D But how I'd love to see him here ahead of Osvaldo.

I swear to God, if Conte starts him over Llorente alla Boriello/Matri I'm gonna freak out.
NOSVALDO. :D

I don't like him nor do I rate him but he should come here only if we SELL Vucinic and Quag. No reason to keep unhappy Vucinic and Quag can't really replace Llorente. Osvaldo could but I still prefer getting back Immobile who is doing well atm.
