Gerrard will be on the market, Real and chelsea will battle it out to get him while Moggi will buy Mozart, who lets face it, isnt exactly world class. thats how he always does it and it often hurts the team in that season.
On the other hand, im proud we do go in for raw potential rather than an all out established star. But at times, that policy has to be on the mend, when we're in a situation where one of our stars has done his time, and his replacement would have to come in and hit the ground running, instead of needing time to develop his talent all the way. The case in point: Pavel Nedved's replacement - I'd rather choose a Pablo Aimar; someone whose around the midpoint of his career rather than someone whose working his way up the ranks. The reason i say this, is because it is very important to maintain the winning habit, or else it sets a dangerous precedent where the team starts getting comfortable with its position on the table. If we dont win the scudetto this season, i dont think Moggi would have the luxury of time on his side with regard to younger talent. Unless of course its a revolution of sorts that we had expected at the start of this term.
