Moggi said we can not compete with Chelsea,Real,Barcelona and milan in transfers.Ok for the 3 first but why not with Milan?

*The M are Euros
*I will use 4-4-2 for both teams
*The prices are from www.footballtransfers.co.uk

GK

Buffon:We spent around 40 M to take Buffon from Parma. He is one of the best GKs in the world but this year is out of form

Dida:Milan spent around 1,5 M to take Dida from Cruzeiro. After that they loaned him for 1 year in Palmeiras. Now he is maybe the best Gk in Europe this year.

DR

Zebina:He was free so we spent nothing. He is a good bench player but not first 11 for a team like Juve

Cafu:Milan signed Cafu for free.He is old but he still has great games.

DC

Thuram:We bought Thuram for aroun 33 M from Parma

Nesta:Milan bought Nesta for around 27 M from Lazio

Cannavaro:Maybe our best bargain-buy.Exchange with Carini

Stam:They bought Stam for 7 M from Lazio

DL

Zambrotta:We have him since 1999 when we bought him from Bari.I don't know the price but it wouldn't be more than 5-6 M

Maldini:The have him.....from when i remember myself

MR:

Camoranesi:We took him from verona for 5,5 M

Gattuso:From Salernitana.Don't know the price but not more than 4 M

ML:

Nedved:We spent 32 M to take Neddy from Lazio

Seedorf:Milan took Seedorf with a swap deal.No money.

MC

Emerson:12 M + Brighi

Pirlo:Maybe the best playmaker in Europe. In INTER they thought he was not that good.Milan bought him from Inter for 16 M.

Blasi:???

Kaka:What to say for him?Milan gave around 7 M to Sao Paulo to buy the best young player in Europe.

Attackers(I Don't write DP because we all know that we have him for 12 years)

Trezeguet:we bought him from Monaco for 20 M Euros in 2000

Shevchenco:Milan bought him from Dinamo Kiev for 23 M in 1999.23 M for the best attacker of serie a

Ibrahimovic:We spent around 16 M for him this summer

Crespo:Milan loaned this player. For many he was finished, but now scores very often and has a great season.Almost Sure that Milan will buy this player for around 7M from Chelsea.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So where are the differences?Milan spent more than us?NO!!!!But IMO they have by far better scouts.

Dida
Gattuso
Pirlo
Kaka
Crespo

Those 5 are players had Great potential ability or ability(Crespo) and Milan's scouts saw that. Now they are in their first 11 and they play well

Zambrotta
Camoranesi

Those are our 2 players who had great potential ability and we bought. But what to say for a team who didn't realise the value of Henry(And don't say he does not fit in Serie A).

One other fault of Juve is that they don't look so much in South America's players. Some of them are superb and their teams don't want much money(Kaka,Tevez e.t.c.).

So we can not say that we have not many money. There are many good players to buy.

There says £18.48m but I thought it was 17.Maybe that's the overall price with Brighi

Yes, brighi was valued at around 12 mil €, so the total worth of the deal is 24 mil €, or around 17-18 mil pounds.

    IMO we have good scouters,
milan has and spends more money and influence,
they can offer better wages and force teams to do their will(lazio)
all the europe has scouters in Brazil and Argentina,
we choosed Uruguay to find true talents, with less competition and a better profit,we can chooce the best material this country may give, we will be the first to profit the rebirth of Uruguaian NT.
Brazilian players tend to prefere Barcelona or porto to make their first steps in European football becuase of the atmosfere and language, they are also considered too attacking for our standards, they are careless when they defend and we cant tolerate this.

To be honest, Milan have a very simple transfer policy which also clicks. Its pretty transparent as far as i can see. For backups, they go in for player trade ins or loan deals without splashing too much cash. And then, they go to South America, where players are born talented, and at times not taken note off, keeping their transfer fee at a bare minimum.

We, on the other hand continue looking for the Mascheranos and Emersons from Argentina and Brazil. When in reality we should give the Robinhos a chance, even though it doesnt keep with our legacy. Anything for CL success, as far as im concerned.

Don't forget Davids. Milan had him for one useless year. Then we bought him (how much?) and he became on of the most important players of the past years.

then we (he?) screwed up and he left to Barça the Inter for nada

It is a gamble, when we got Leggro ALL teams in Serie A envied us. Then what happened when reality appeared? They laughed at us.

    Look at Rivaldo!

I remember Ba, JPP and others

Was Thuram that expensive for us? I thought Buffon was the expensive one during that summer.

    Another flop would be Salas.

but these things happen, milan however you put it still can spend much more money than US.

Very good post. Your conclusion seems to be that Milan has better scouts because they find more talents in South America. Our scouts have other prioritys, they were following players like Ibrahimovic. Although I can't say that he was an unknown player last year Milan opted to loan Crespo instead. Blasi is a talented midfielder, and we've had him for years.

Our transfer policy actually isn't that bad, we keep an eye on the bank balance and spend wisely.

milan have a far more superior backing than juve, which allows them to dictate their market better than juve.

Moggi does well but never goes for the best, whereas Milan are able to.

Anyway, i think we have the scouts, but the scouts dont have the balls to go for the top players in the market.

eg. Gerrard will be on the market, Real and chelsea will battle it out to get him while Moggi will buy Mozart, who lets face it, isnt exactly world class. thats how he always does it and it often hurts the team in that season.

The reasons why they can go for the really big players:

    Chelsea: Abramovic

    Milan: Berlusconi

Real: They start making debts again

    Inter: Moratti

Juve only spends the cash they earn. I think that is good because we are independent and don`t depend on somebody else. Just imagine if Moratti stops giving Inter millions and millions every year. They would make loads of debts because they spend much more money then they earn. It`s the same with Chelsea and Milan.
They can spend more money because they know that their presidents will pay their debts.
What makes me proud is that we can compete with them because we manage our money clever and are independent.
