But while we're on the subject why don't you explain slavery, genocide of the Native Americans, colonialism, assassinations, various operations to topple regimes/leaders, invasions, and wars that non-Muslim nations have committed throughout our recent history? Oh that was in the past and we should get over it? So just because you 'figured how to be civilized' first it gives you the right to act all righteous?

My point, considering you obviously missed it, was that extremist nut-jobs are gonna be who they are and do what they do no matter what their sick minds 'choose' to dwell upon - be it religion, race, politics, all these are simply outlets of the anger and insanity stored in them. The US didn't need the "issues" with muslim immigration to have OK City, Columbine, Texas Tech, Tucson etc, etc.
Unfortunately, your personal political and social convictions do not allow you to see the nut-jobs in question as the actual 'reasons' for these atrocious acts, so you identify the fixations of their messed-up minds as the central issue.
