Not sure why Nedved won't be starting for Juve, especially if he continues to play like he has been for the past several matches. We don't really have anybody else to field on the left side of midfield, and if Zambrotta will keep his wing back position, which I think he will, obviously Nedved has the left flank to himself. Chiellini is no way in hell playing left wing for us, however Mutu or Cassano could take that role but I have my doubts. Nedved, when fit, is still really our best player coming out of midfield. Capello better not relegate him to the bench just yet because I think he has more to give.

Possibility without Nedved:

Buffon

Cassetti - Thuram- Cannavaro - Zambrotta

Camoranesi - Emerson - Mozart

Ibrahimovic - Trezeguet - Cassano

I have indeed always liked the trident, and if you recall Capello used the trident with Milan in 95 I think with Weah and Baggio together. He might use the same style with Juventus next year.

Nedved is alot slower and that to me has hampered his game a little bit, while also to some extent his vision. Unless we sell Emerson, i think the only big signing we're probably looking for this summer; is one that will be good enough to relegate Nedved to the bench. i think thats pretty apparent by now.

I don't really know Cassetti, but is he better then Zebina? I think he's done well last season and there's not really a reason to replace him. Also, our biggest flaw last season was a surplus of average central midfielders (Blasi, Appiah, Tacch) but a shortage of good ones. Would buying a talent (Mozart) be the best thing we could do? OK, he is creative, but he is unproven. We would be better off signing a proven midfielder. The extra money could come off not buying Cassano. He's a great player, but buying him while we already have Del Piero and Mutu is silly.

That's not exactly what I would do, however that formation is what Moggi and Capello might create for next season.

Here is what I would do for next season:

Buffon

Oddo - Thuram - Cannavaro - Zambrotta

Camoranesi - Emerson - Pizarro - Nedved

Ibrahimovic - Mutu

Bench: Chimenti, Kovac, Zebina, Appiah, Delgado, Trezeguet, Del Piero.

@ Andy: Shouldn't Delgado be in the starting XI, especially if we're going to be paying close to his asking price of 15 mil.?

Great formation. Just put Miguel instead of crap Oddo in the formation, and you have my vote.
