Whatever you might say, Ibrahimovic was ordinary in 2004/2005. He didn't score 25 goals and he didn't give 25 assists. He was still a hell of a lot worse than Del Piero at the age of 23 and I won't settle for less than world class.
recess over kiids!! back to the thread.

I think Zlatan's first season in serie A at that age was damn good and not at all 'ordinary' .
You compare to Del Piero but he has grown up with Italian style soccer, now I'm not saying that DP wasn't better then, I do think he was. But give Zlatan a break as he had to adapt with different styles of football already by this age.

And just because DP was ahead doesn't mean Zlatan won't be able to match him, it doesn't rule out that he wont be better when you compare them at 25-29.

We're just all very dissapointed with his current season as surely it has turned out to be such a disaster. But many players go through this kind of form, it was just frustrating and obvious because Cap always started him anyways.

no one can be as good as Del Piero, it's not fair. It's not likely Zlatan will be ahead but there's no player in the world that COULD be ahead. Not his fault.

and also because of his childish behavior...

i'll be surprise if he can be a star (don't try to compare him with Del Piero!!),
but i'll be happy for him..

yes becuse of his behaviour too...
behaviour wise you will never really find a mature personality like Del Piero combined with his abilities. This sort of player comes once in who knows how long....

But I do remember that Del Piero had his bad stints for some years after his injury. And he hasn't really been world class in those years and only has managed good performances under Capello.
So performance wise Zlatan or a new young potential can match or exceed Del Piero.

But again compared as a whole person (personality, performance), you'll rarely find one (if we're even lucky to stumble accross one again at Juventus)

So what's your point?

Ibrahimovic is a good player because he scored 50 goals on FM06, regardless of the fact he only scored 7 in real life?

It's beyond me why many people fail to notice this. They say Zlatan's a "potentially great player". The guy's not 18 anymore, you know. He won't dramatically improve over the next few years. 20-23 might be a huge difference 23-28 isn't.

Thanks btw.
