Becos Nedved is exceptional, and he won the Golden Ball at 2003, how many players at the age of 31 can do that?

Sometimes I really wish that Juve would buy young + promising players. There r plenty of players with Patrick's role and I believe this is the chief reason y some of us r upset abt the sell of Maresca.

Ur missing the point lad

Of course no1 doubts wad he contributed to Arsenal, but sometimes I wish we have young players to take the job.

Y?
1. Cheap. We could actually save a bit of $$$ if we bought a younger player compared to a 28 year old.
2. They may perform at the same level as Vieira, maybe even better.
3. As they play better and better every season, their price increases which makes it difficult for them to be purchased. But since Moggi has a tendency of selling players at a high price, it would be beneficial to the club too, juz like the Zidane thing. But this move would not promote loyalty of players to the club

there is one thing, CL needs this type of players....look for blasi for example...onse mistake in CL cost us the door....u need some exceptional players......one makes the difference ...... look how many players in this position are playing well.....the best could be Essien.....but Lyon won't sell him and also he wants Chelsia not any club ....so at this time and at this stage of the teams period, the best option that we can have it is just getting this player.......u know look at Van Bomel..how old is he> he is 28 or 29 ..at Barca no one said like this ...he is great DM .....one thing also .......i think some positions in the field needs some expert players....DM we don't need young boys they want to learn .....also at defence we cant just get less expert players ....only attack u have to get as fresh young as possible...i think we r in the right track and this buy is tooooo much needed...and u will see how Juve this sesson....and for me if vieira playes at his best for 3y to come ..this is more than enough....and speacially that Neddy....in his last days....we r sooooo fins with this buy...

No1 at Barca would say that since they already have Xavi playing a role similar to Pirlo's. And since Xavi can develop so well, sometimes I wish that if we could have a young player to develop in the same way as Xavi's progress.

Anyway welcome Vieira!

Vieira: I Wanted Juve
7/15/2005 3:25:00 PM
The former Arsenal player will have the number 4 shirt left vacant by Paolo Montero.
Patrick Vieira spoke his first words as a Juventus player on Friday afternoon during his official presentation to the press.

“I’m proud to be here after nine years with Arsenal. I’m glad to be changing and I chose Juventus because it is a team always at the top; it also assures me continuity contrary to other clubs that contacted me during this period.”

Vieira wants to continue winning.

“With Arsenal I won a lot, with Juventus I want to continue winning more. I did not come here with the only objective of the Champions League but for a more ample valuation.”

The French midfielder is very honoured that new boss Fabio Capello compared him to Frank Rijkaard.

“When I was at Milan I was only 19 years-old, Capello was a good stimulator back then and he will be again now. Rijkaard is one of my idols, therefore the comparision pleases me; it’s a compliment.”

Wearing the no.4 as well, welcome Patrick!

The ONE AND ONLY bad thing about Vieira's age is that he cannot be sold for a big sum later on. That's it, as for the performance, 29 years old has nothing to do with it, c'mon he still has at least 3 years at a high level.

He wouldn't be so cheap if he still was 26.

He is not that cheap actually, you might say he would have been much more expensive had he been 26.

Both emo and vieira are commanding Dm's.
Both can pass well
Both can support the defence
Both can support the offence
Both can score vital goals
Both have underated technical skills

We have the strongest central midfield in the world....freeing up a lot of resposiblity of needy and camo to defend, thus can focus on attacking thus making us much more offensive...

all we need is a young defender and a creative/wideman as cover.

The pace of Serie A isnt as fast as the premiership but more technical one. this will def suit Patrick. Ok hes 29 as everyone keeps going on bout but his game wasnt based around pace. If he'd stayed in England coming up to 30/31 yrs of age you'll prob see the difference. He'll adapt well in Italy.

Love that shit!!

Another thing, why im most of the photos moggi struggles to even smile for the cameras while unveiling Patrick!?

Chin up Moggs!!

With Vieira here the expectations couldn't be higher for next season...hate to be a wet blanket here but lets not count our chickens before they are hatched.
