Hey weasley, I asked you a while ago about Pat and you were sure he's staying. Can you tell me your opinion about the transfer now?

Juventus will win the Champions League.

I'm sure about it. This was exactly what we needed. There really is a god.

what? you do know Vieira isnt creative, that means 2 defensive midfielders for Juve.
Yeah all the Roma side r so godly creative...
All of their starting eleven..
Their whole bench players...
The 70.000 supporters in the Olimpico...
Even the fat disgusting Sensi is so damn creative :D

But Patrick Vieira isnt creative, FFS who needs him anyway
I've been trying to find a place for him in Roma's starting elevn but I couldn't... ya know that Vieria cann't compete with legendary players like Perrota and Dacourt :D

exactly, last year emerson couldnt be creative because he had to do most of the cover for the defence this year it should be a better season for emerson!
I absolutely agree with you.
Remember when Emerson played at Roma?
Dacourt covered the midfield while Emerson made his forward runs.
I really think that with Viera in the team, Emerson can relax a bit more, and attack with an easier mind, knowing that if we lose possesion, he has Viera behind him to cover up.

No but the lack of creation is immediately apparent. I won't be happy with this signing unless we get Cassano as well. Sounds a bit spoilt but really, another defensive mid that can't create to save his life was hardly top of the list of priorities.
Let me ask this: Can we even afford Cassano now?

The ONE AND ONLY bad thing about Vieira's age is that he cannot be sold for a big sum later on. That's it, as for the performance, 29 years old has nothing to do with it, c'mon he still has at least 3 years at a high level.
So he will not retire here?

With Vieira here the expectations couldn't be higher for next season...hate to be a wet blanket here but lets not count our chickens before they are hatched.
Yeah, it appears that football Europe is expecting Juve to do quite good in Europe. Well so do I of course, but one thing that worries me is that we might repeat the nightmare season we had in 03/04. I mean with Viera in the team we have that extra sense of secruity and confidence boost, as if we needed it, but my point is that maybe we are becoming a bit too cocky for our own good taste. Yet again though, we have Capello on the bench, who knows what he is doing.

I think I concur with Dixon. When looking at both players I would have to say Vieira has the better ball skills and passing range, although Emerson can hit some decent passes as well. Emerson is indeed not only a simple ball winner, however he can certainly do that job very well, and his strength in the tackle supports that claim. Both Vieira and Emerson can basically do it all in midfield, and that is why I'm very pleased to have both of them controling the middle because playing a straight 4 in midfield calls for the central middies to be equally adept at attacking and defending, otherwise things may become unbalanced. We saw that last season with Blasi having to control the ball under pressure around the opponent's box, and that rarely worked out. Thank God we have Patrick now.
Agreed. And though Vieira is indeed a rather defensive player and not all that creative you should look at him as a thriving force. He isn't the player that distributes great assists and scores a lot of goals, but he's the kind of guy that pushes a team forward.

But then again, I would be more content if we get one more creative player - feels more complete somehow. I guess we also can make do with our current squad, but I feel that that final transfer will give us great chances in Europe. Vieira shouldnt be the end of it.
