Nice welcome you are giving to the player. He went over the top with this I am a Juve fan but as a player he is far from bad. And is "Shitsoko" calling supposed to be funny? Cause I don´t think it is. The guy is coming here hoping to perform and get his career on the right track and the fans will decapitate him before he even puts his right leg on the field. At least give him a chance. I am especially irritated by that mofo Badass_Devil who is full of shit and a total hypocrite. This forum is a better place without him.

Calcio Debate: Sissoko Set To Sign For “Small Club” Juve

Regular readers of my daily Calcio debate will already know that on a technical and footballing level I have deep reservations about Juventus’ imminent signing of Momo Sissoko. I have made it perfectly clear that I fear his acquisition could be just another in a long-list of transfer disasters from Alessio Secco.
However another angle that I have not covered, but is perhaps just as important, regards the hugely disparaging comments that Sissoko made about Juventus last summer.
The Bianconeri had come to an agreement with Liverpool in August to sign the Malian international for €15m. However the midfielder decided to reject the move and instead signed a new deal at Anfield until 2011. In explaining this decision he said the following:
“I believed that Liverpool are a much bigger club than Juventus and decided not to speak to them any longer.
“I'm a Liverpool player and I want to show to the people here, to everyone, that I'm already at a big club. I'm happy to be in Liverpool. I did want to stay despite the interest. That's why I signed a new contract.”
Less than six months down the line, and having been unable to displace the clearly superior Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano from the Liverpool starting XI, Sissoko has had a complete u-turn.
All of a sudden he is desperate to sign for Juventus, and according to quotes printed today, he has been an avid supporter of the Bianconeri since he was a young child.
“It’s just a question of a few days,” said the 23-year-old.
“I have to confess that wearing the Juventus shirt would be the greatest thing. I have been a Bianconeri fan since I was a kid.
“I supported Juve because I was obsessed with Zinedine Zidane and if you loved Zidane, you loved Juve. I then became a fan of Alessandro Del Piero – he is a great player.”
Therefore Sissoko is now declaring his unerring love for Juventus, just six months after insulting them by calling Liverpool a “much bigger club.”
Surely there is a contradiction somewhere down the line?
I am interested to find out just how Juventus will react to having a player who made such disparaging comments about them.
Bianconeri supporters and Italians in general for that matter, are very proud people, and value respect as a very important quality.
Once you commit a slur or an act of betrayal it is very difficult to make amends. This can be seen by the players who left Juve in the aftermath of Calciopoli.
Many Juventini consider the likes of Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta, Lilian Thuram, and particularly Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira as traitors, and have made it abundantly clear that they will never be allowed to return to play for the club. This prevented the chance of the Old Lady moving for Fabio Cannavaro last summer, and there was also heavy opposition when a link to Gianluca Zambrotta was made a few weeks ago.
Of course Momo Sissoko owed Juventus nothing when he made these comments in the summer, however some would argue that he cannot utter such words and then decide to join the club just six months later. It is a mockery.
However if Sissoko joins and immediately starts producing world-class performances and helps Juve to, as Claudio Ranieri said, “bridge the gap in quality between the top sides”, will the fans forgive him for his past wrongdoing?
At the end of the day the most important thing in football is the results on the field. Sissoko is being bought because Ranieri and Secco believe he can improve the club’s fortunes.
One thing is for certain and that is that Sissoko will be under more pressure to perform immediately. If he hits the ground running straight away then everything may be fine. But a slow start, or anything that resembles the kind of displays shown by Sergio Almiron or Tiago Mendes, and the fans will immediately be on his back.
