Or we could sign a good cb worthy of a starting position, so we have competition at cb, as well as quality depth. Being free doesn't change the fact he is average. Were Juve ffs, not a mid-table club.
:agree:
We need starters, desperately.

Mellberg is certainly not starter-material, but he is better than Boumsong, Criscito and Birindelli. Olof has been solid through-out his EPL career whereas we all know how Boumsong did at Newcastle.
Leave Biri out of it man! He's a lifer, every club needs a couple. The heart of our club is kept beating by players like him, & those of the same mould who went before; Pessotto, Tachi, Conte etc. Maybe not good enough to start but never bitch, just love the shirt.

Another Swede, by the way? I only know two who have ever played for Juve during my lifetime.
And Ibra was enough, no more!

Uhh, I said that he is better than Birindelli. Leave other qualities out of it, man.

People like "Andy" have probably not seen the player in question more than a handful of times, except for highlights, but they still feel they have to give their expert judgement. There really is no use trying to make them change their minds.

Another swede in out team ? ?

Now I always wondered about Ibra at times, but when has Juve become the club of choice for gay Swedes? :confused2

When did we sign Ljungberg? :D

dont tell me this is the reason secco visited england
No mate, that was for Ballack, Lampard, Drogba, Carvalho, Gallas, Gilberto, Sissoko, Gerrard, Mascherano, Gareth Barry, Robbie Keane & the bloke who makes the pies at Accrington Stanley.

Sadomin, Esteban, there is a young talent who plays in the midfield with BP. i read he's linked with Juve in today's Metro. Then they interviewed him and he denied everything :D

he is a decent player, but he is an EPL kind of defender not Serie A, we should aim higher though
couldnt have put it better, the guy is a monster physically and that helps him a lot in the EPL..He's Aston Villa's best defender..but he is nowhere near Juve material..He's definitely an upgrade over Boumsong though.

Melberg is better than Boum but if his wages are as high as what the French player makes then there is no reason to buy such a player to be back up.

If you knew anything about football coverage in the United States, you'd know that there are at least three EPL matches broadcasted live each week. I've watched Melberg play quite a lot in the Premiership, and I personally like the player... he's solid and tough.

But is he good enough to lead our back line... FUCK NO. So what is the point?
