Barcelona Vice-President Ferran Soriano insists Milan target Samuel Eto’o will stay with the Blaugrana. “He wants to stay here.”
The Cameroon international is the Rossoneri’s main objective after they relinquished their hold on David Suazo and Adriano Galliani confirmed on Sunday that the player was at the top of their list.
“Eto’o wants to stay and we want to keep him here,” said Soriano when questioned on the striker.
“If things go as they should, we will see him play next to Thierry Henry,” added the official, referring to the former Arsenal captain’s move to Catalonia this week.
“I am absolutely sure he will stay here with us,” concluded Soriano, who also denied that there will be a change on the bench, as they are pleased with Frank Rijkaard’s work.
In the meantime, Carlo Ancelotti has commented on the latest controversial developments in Milan’s transfer campaign.
“Suazo? Unfortunately that’s just the way things went, the player’s will prevailed in the end,” the Diavoli Coach told Sky Italia.
“If we can find alternative solutions we will take them into consideration, otherwise we will play with the squad we have now, with the added bonus of Ronaldo in the Champions League.
“Henry could have been an option, but he chose Barca because he can earn more there, Spanish sides are favoured over the Italian ones because of their fiscal laws,” explained Carletto.
“Eto’o? Barcelona are not willing to let any of their key players go,” concluded Ancelotti.
