Owen Hargreaves is a good player and ManUtd will have a hard-working partnership (Hargreaves + Carrick) in the next season. Although with such a transfer fee, I reckon that the biggest winner of such a deal is Bayern Munich. Bayern are capable of discovering a promising German youngster with less than quarter the transfer fee of Hargreaves.
TBH i think its a great deal for Manchester United. Its not about Carrick you see, I think its more of a replacement for Scholes. Scholes has passed his best and look and the cards his been piling on himself this season because he tries so hard to get the ball but he's an attacking player you see. I'd say Manchester gets another striker and they are all good for next season considering Rooney and Ronaldo are in the squad. They don't need anymore firepower. Defence yes. Carrick and Hargreaves can own the midfield with their passes and defensive techniques. Stabilises the midfield and arrives late to finish off some loose balls which is pretty much what Scholes was doing at late. And I think Carrick and Hargeaves have some pretty good far ranged shots. And yeah, Manchester should do exactly what they did if they have the cash for Hargeaves.
And what do you mean i underrate Zanetti? Did i say he sucked? No. But what I did imply was that I seriously doubt Zanetti is better than Hargreaves. He did not impress me in 2002 because as far as I remember whenever he played, Italy never win a single match in the tournament. In 2004 neither did we. We could blame it on Trappatoni for his ultra defensive stint but he really never make any impact. He sucked for Inter. His career was all over the place. Venezia, Fiorentina whatever. He had one good year with Roma and sucked throughout for Inter again. Okay i admit he did settle down quite well with us this season but i dont want to judge him just yet. We were in Serie B. And to be honest i dont think we had a great season in Serie B. Buck up Juventus!!! And I rate Hargreaves for what he deserves

Hargreaves is an excellent player and I think both teams won here. Manchester United did not have the DM they needed for the CL this year and Hargreaves will give them true quality in CM. You are absolutely right about Bayern too, although you don't exactly have to have a great defensive player in CM to win Bundesliga.
It is hard to argue with this post. I like Zanetti though. He is a bit of a journeyman and there is always a reason for that. If teams need a player, they keep him and his prior teams clearly didn't need him. However, I do see a role for Zanetti here, but I think we need to pair him with a WC DM. A lot of people are suggesting a lot of young un-proven talents at CM, but quite frankly he is not the player a young talent needs to be playing along side of.

You quote my sentence specifically so i'll explain to you.......We had Serie A material. Nedved, DP, Camoranesi, Chielini, Balza and Buffon. If I remember correctly we used them alot in 05/06 and look at the point gap we opened up with Milan. We still have them. Several changes. And a 9 point deduction and we more or less struggled with draws and losses. Unless you wanna tell me that we were nothing in 05/06 without Moggi and his phonecalls then i expect much more from our players in Serie B. Its new to them yes, but c'mon......we are Juve. I'm still thanking God for a mere 9 points deduction and not 17 or whatever.

Why I do feel that you underrate the Serie B teams. These teams have faced Juventus and they've been sure that their matches with Juve are the best chance for them to prove themselves. I'm not saying that they're good teams that can compete with us, but against Juve they change their skins.
As for our squad, you mentioned most of our heroes who decided not to escape the drowning ship and you forgot the ones who left it already; Zambrotta, Thuram, Cannavaro, Vieira, Emerson, Mutu and Ibrahimovic, plus the coach. Any team who loses more than half of its regular players must be affected, this is an unarguable point. Also taking into consideration that we didn't have enough time to replace the departed players, I think that Juve's mission in Serie B wasn't that easy.
And my question was pretty obvious, you think that Juve haven't had a great season, and I asked why? Even though, you're talking as if Juventus should have collected 110 points, Serie B with all the pressure and criticism the club has been facing since our demotion isn't a piece of cake!

Makaay won't leave, he may, but I don't think so....are you talking about Jan Schlaudraff? If so, he is very promising, he may be the next Mueller. He has that much talent, some are calling him the next big thing, like another Podolski.

Carrick and Hargreaves combined cannot manage the number of goals that Scholes has scored for Man U...and Scholes couldnt tackle some1 to save his life...and these two are essentially holding midfielders not attack-minded players like Scholes...now there will be more emphasis on C-Ro and Giggs to create the attacks from midfield...b4 it was Keane + Scholes with Keane holding it together and Scholes going forward...
Carrick is a deep-lying playmaker of sorts, great player in my opinion and wish he had an Italian grandparent who loves Juventus. There shouldn't be any question now that Hargreaves is overrated but he will provide Manure with more bite in midfield, something Carrick nor Scholes really give. Now Fletcher won't play much unless he somehow is used on the wing so haha to him.
