if Vieri joins then most likely Trez will be sold.
But we still need a Prima Punta. U can't have one in a team especially
not if U have Vieri since he is injured for about 35-45% of the season!

Vieri might well only last a couple of seasons but if it means instant Italian and Champions League-succes it could be worth it. The same arguments came up, when Roma bought Gabriel Batistuta, but it turned out quite allright for them in the end.
