I beg your pardon but you mean the better performing side always wins, how many times has an inferior team beaten a superior team because they played as a cohesive unit?

That's the whole thing Byro. Cohesion means better team, irrespective of talent, even though we are definitely a better batting side than them. While their bowling, has inherently been better over the years. I also think India has been the better fielding side over the last few years. But coming back to the point the spirit and unity in this team makes them stand out above all else. Pakistan unfortunately don't enjoy stability because of the mess being created by the people running things on their end. Match fixing scandals, team discord etc. One of their ministers or selectors actually told the team not to throw or fix any matches in the world cup, which is pretty ridiculous and sad, the stuff they have to cope with back home. Despite all the shenanigans, Afridi gave a good account of himself and the team.

Better team but not better quality.;) Bangladesh & Ireland beating England being classic examples, not to mention my choke artist boys.:D Sub continent teams have always had a reputation for being nonchalant when it came to fielding. India have only taken their fielding very seriously when Kirsten was appointed, you can see a major difference in the players & their attitude on the field. When India toured SA last year, we were shocked at how they've drastically improved. Hell remember how India beat SA in the first two matches of the 5odi series? The SA batsmen even said they underestimated the fielding prowess of India & as i said, Pakistan mucked up because of their fielding. Had those dropped catches been taken, India would have been restricted to a score of 230/240 & Pakistan would most probably have taken that match.

I'd have to say, it is the quality of this team that's seeing them atop the test rankings and close to the same in the OdI rankings, but on the day, itself, it was their spirit. I think any team, that focusses on youth is bound to have quality. The analogies you gave of Ireland and Bangladesh are probably wrong because, India and Pakistan are a lot more evenly matched than that. In most of their encounters, they've enjoyed a level playing field, with spirit and unity winning the day, often. As for India's fielding, they've been taking it pretty seriously since Ian Chappell, but it's Gary whose gotten the team comfy around him, while Chappell couldn't culturally adapt, and his methods were therefore not as well received. And I do think, even 230-240 would've been hard for the Pakis to chase, simply because of the pressure of the occasion. Most teams would crumble in such a high pressure game away from home. Like I said earlier, this game, was like a game of two innings. You can't say this match was lost on fielding alone. Batting played a huge part, Pakistan had almost no plan in their innings, and that's why it fell apart, because despite their fielding woes 260 was not impossible. Although what was the point you were making again? :p :D

That's just not true. I think limiting to 220-230 was very possible had the fielding been sharper and had Gul performed. I have no doubt of this. That would have been a lot easier to chase for us given the lack of pure batsmen in our team.

Bad start,as i expected our bowlers choked again and tendulkar is just not the big match guy....he will guide the team all the way to the finals and then fail...fuck them who blame him for that because if one man takes you through the majority of the leauge matches then the a couple of other 10 men should perform in the finals.

Good to see gambhir and kholi slowly and steadily guiding the chase 56-2 now...its like watching the change of guard, with the young players taking responsibility

Now dont get out fuckers!
