we are cursed to play 4-4-2 with 2 DMs.Now that our wingers are getting old 36 Neddy 32 Camo we need something new like Gio,Marchionni is great when hes available andthats rare and Sali is not the winger we need....

Cronios, why we never had natural left wingers instead of using Neddy or now Gio in the left flank while they are natural AMC???

I think is due to the fact that we ve always used Italian players, excessively and Italy generally had a problem with that position and also because of our ultra defensive type of play, we need wingers who can defend and have experience in the center of midfield to help building up forward, thats why we tend to use wingbacks or CMs to fill up for those positions.
Finding a decent Italian all-around LM can be a pain...

Emo was the MoM at 80% of our games, he did job pretty well,
actually he was flawless at doing what he does job, it was Capello's choice and fault to play with a straight 4-4-2 with 2 DMS and use our wingers as the only offensive platform our team had.
Emo just did what he was asked to do, it wasnt his fault that we picked the wrong tactics.
It is true that we needed 2 CMs, instead of two DMs, but that was hardly Emo's problem...

And Emo was better than Sissoko is now and will be much better than Poulsen will ever will be...
:agree:

I think Emerson is one of the most overrated players ever...

It was like having a stone with weels wearing the black and white shirt...
His only great thing was his strength, nothing more...

Capello's team was good in Serie A. Playing with Lecce and Brecia you can easily win even with Emerson and no creativity in your midfield (remember we had a very good attack that year). Although in Champions League we were just bad...

The season with Blasi and Emo in the midfield we failed to win Liverpool in Turin (we had lost 2-1 in Anfield, Cannavaro had scored) and we played average football. The only achievment of this team was when we won Milan 0-1 and we won the Scudetto...

Next Year with Vieira we were not as good as we supposed to. We lost from Arsenal easily and in previous round we won Werder from a mistake by Wiese...

The only good match from this team was when we won Inter by 2-0 in Turin...

You must understand that we are going NOWHERE with 2 defensive midfielders. This is just old fashioned football...

We must have one defensive midfieler and one player that can attack and pass the ball forward...

Remember the old good Juve. We had Zidane and Davids or Tacchinardi in the midfield. The one defend and the other that was a playmaker...

Even this year if you remember when we won Inter by 1-2 Camoranesi played as an attacking midfieler...

We played something like that: Neddy---Momo----Camo----Sali

And you saw what we did...

WE SHOULD NOT TAKE POULSEN OR ANOTHER DEFENSIVE MIDFIELER. WE ARE GOING NOWERE WITH THIS. TREZEGUET WILL BE ALONE DEL PIERO WILL GO BACK TO TAKE THE BALL AND WE WILL ATTACK ONLY WITH THE WINGERS. IF WE PLAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT WITH A GOOD TEAM IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, THIS WILL BE A DISASTER...

And something else...

Sissoko will be much better from Emerson, if he is not already...

I can find you 10 players that are strong, can you find me 10 that can dribble and pass well??????
Agree with you on all things except Emerson. Emerson was a brilliant player and did his job perfectly. He was truly world class when he was at Roma, with us and even with Bayer Leverkusn. He is not overrated by any means. It was the system of play which didn't work under Crapello, which is not suprising anyway. Capello is just out of date, he is not a modern manager and even though he is very succesfull, he has a lot of flaws and I don't predict a bright future for him.....

P.S. I already like you and your posts, just try to turn off the Caps Lock button. ;)

To say Emerson was useless and overrated is absurd.

Him and Cannavaro were sensational, possibly our two most important players at that time.

Sure we lacked creativity with Vieira and Emerson but you can hardly blame him for that. Capello was the one that chose to have two DM and Emo did his job.

@ Sad Satue - unfortunatly you cannot have a whole team of fast players who run and dribble (look at Real Madrid's failure with their Galactico signings). You need someone to contribute to the team by breaking up other teams attacks and retaining possession.

Don't get me wrong i like exciting fast players but in a team you need something different. Just look at Senna's role in the Spain team, Claude Makelele's importance at Chelsea and Real, and not to foget that Zanetti was one of our most important players last season.
Indeed. Top post.

Quite the opposite actually, if anything Emo was one of our most underrated players, because most of the fans rate only the players who can create offensively and offer spectacle jiggling with the ball and they tend to underestimate the importance of defensive wise players!
Their efficiency and the crucial role they have on making the difference and winning a game! Emo held our midfield all alone many times over, he protected our CBs and cleared Blasi's and other incompetent player's mess.
We hadnt had such an impressive and efficient DM since Davids!
EMO was a fine component in world class team!!
Every team need such a player, even the Brazilian NT!

You are missing the point again, it wasnt EMO's fault,we had our creativity problems,
if Emo had a Zidanne instead of a Blasi in his side we wouldnt have any creativity problems. Emerson's job was to winn balls and he was excellent doing that!
Quietly and effectively, exactly as he should!
His impact was visible quite away in our defensive department and he was one of the reasons, we had the best Defense in Europe, by the first day he joined us!
His support was essential!

Our tactical plan, the long ball and the second DM, are not his decisions, or fault,
you cant blame him for anything, he did his job flawlessly, out tactician though, didnt...

I ve been saying this for years and years, but unfortunately, our coaches dont think alike...
Unfortunately we are stacked with the ultra defensive 4-4-2 and to make matters even worse, we have to rely on our old wingers to do all the creativity job for us.
I suffer watching Juve been punished on the field, because of this tactical approach, but make no mistake, this is not a player's fault. This is 100% the coaches fault!!
Instead of changing or formation adding an AMF and finding solution to the problem that haunts us for years, they preferred to find quick fixes around it.
Adding Amauri, a forward who can draw back to create, helping himself and Giovinco to gradually replace Neddy as a winger...
Unfortunately this is our future, this is our coach and this is our board...

I think we all angry on that, but this is not our choice to make...:faq1:
Due to the fact that they decided not to upgrade our defense and they brought useless defenders to help an already extremely weak defense, we have no option, than to field two ball winners to make up for our main weakness!
Very well said, Cronios. Look, I agreed with you for once. :eyebrows:

Cannavaro was one of my favourite players too...

I didn't say anything about exciting players...

I said about players that can pass, dribble and run. This is modern football...
my dream is juve to play like arsenal or manchester, qick and nice football...

sissoko is exactly that. he can mark, he can pass he can dribble, thats why he is one of my favourite players. i remember the match against milan. he played alone against milan's midfield and was perfect. even when bonera tackled him, e continued to play. he is the next davids for me...

sad statue,

perhaps you like that
Camoranesi-Tiago-Almiron-Nedved
2 attacking wingers and 2 midfielders that can provide nice passes and long range shots, play fast tempo but who is gonna defend???DMs are important...very important.Sissoko-X.Alonso partnership CAN GIVE US THE SCUDETTO
come one man...

i didnt say that we must have no defencive midfielers...

but we must have one and not 2 of them...

thats exaclty why i want so badly to sign xabi alonso. this man is something between a dm and a cm. he'll me just perfect for us...

i agree about the coaches-mistake thing...

i disagree about the emo-good-player thing...

i agree about amauri, he is a del pero - styple player that we need...

i was very sad when i saw ranieri using 2 dms (nocerino - zaneti) last season and i pray not to do that again...

we can, agree on everyhting man, if we did this forum would be so boring...

If we get this poulsen shite i swear it'll be official that our board are a bunch of tight arsed losers!! they aint got a dam clue. Wheres this invest in youngsters shit then?

oh dear!

*****

Juventus in Spain for Poulsen.

10m € clause and could accept a 4 year deal worth 3m € per year.

Please tell me Xabi is in Spain right now.

That explains why Secco, Blanc and cie weren't at the players presentation today. :scared:

Exactly!! I don't get our board, we try to sign Alonso, we fail, and then we try to sign a complete opposite player. I rather more Marchisio than Poulsen.

I'm just hoping Xabi is in Spain and we're coming back with him or a 2 for 1 deal with Poulsen and Capel coming to Juve. :p

Wtf....How is poulsen any better than nocerino??????? my fear is that with his tough tackling stupidity he might be a huge liability on the team........thank god that we have zanetti and marchisio to start alongside momo........another 10 mill down the drain.
