Judas did what he thought he needed to. In all actuality it was necessary. Judas is only unforgiven because of his suicide not his betrayal
Exactly. It's a common mistake to view Judas as a bad guy. Basically, he saw Jesus' cowardliness and helped him realize that his true purpose was to get crucified and to to suffer for mankind.

Well actually that's a bit incorrect. Judas was a Zealot so he believed the Messiah would be a warrior messiah so he figured by betraying Yeshua he would force his hand, because he didn't believe that he would allow himself to die and suffer. Judas didn't understand so therefore he let his guilt overtake him and hung himself.
