I know that.

I was just making the point that talented players will usually perform better than the talented players who are vastly overhyped, like Di Natale. All we ever hear about in Italian football is how good Barzagli is, how good Di Natale is, but the fact of the matter is: they blow.
Word, I feel that. I hear your noise...

But the point is, these players are not as good as the Italian media and fans make them out to be.
Of course they're not great but they're not that bad. I still believe coaches play a bigger part in players than your saying. So what they played in there normal positions but if the coach dosent make you feel uncomfable and makes you do jobs you dont normally do most players will not react well unless the coach makes them 100% confident in there ability and there job for victory.
I am saying they choked because they played in fear not of Spain but more of themselves of faliure, which Donadoni pumped in there heads with his tactics and mentality.

Great coaches are great motivators.

It's obvious Donadoni was partly to blame. But unlike what we saw with Juve this year, all the players the Azzurri had played below average, except for Buffon and Chiellini perhaps. This isn't very suspicious considering watching Milan in Serie A and Roma in the Champions League this year.

The players have to shoulder some of the blame but it isn't their fault Donadoni asked them to go out there today and play for 0-0. Fucking ridiculous tactics when you look at Spain's strengths and their weaknesses. I'm confident that the Azzurri could've beaten Spain in normal time if they attacked them, but oh well, we'll never know now. Congrats to Spain, they deserved it.

Totally agree. Though it could have been a different game on both ends had Italy opened things up a bit.

Definitely. Obviously they didn't want to concede any space to Villa and Torres but I'm confident they could've opened up what I consider to be a suspect Spain back four. I mean Spain had conceded a goal in every game up to this point but Italy chose to start the game with four centre midfielders, a forward on the left wing and the useless Toni.

Spain has much more talent than the Azzurri (right now). Obviously that means fuckall, but I still think Italy was that terrible that they would have crashed out even if they did attack. It's pretty obvious they would suffer with Perrotta as attacking mid, Di Natale up top, and pretty much weakness in the Milan midfield.

Spain was always going to win this match. They're just better. Better defense, better midfield, better forwards.

Lets go player for player then.

Buffon > Casillas

Ramos > Zambrotta

Puyol > Materazzi

Chiellini > Marchena

Capdavilla = Grosso

Iniesta > Gattuso

Pirlo = Xavi

Senna =De Rossi

Silva > Perrotta

Villa > Di Natale

Torres > Toni

Fabregas > Aquilani

Xabi Alonso > Ambrosini :lol:

Guiza > Borriello

So, what is the argument here?

Se acabo.

That's not what I meant Andy. Yesterday you said you thought Italy would win. Today you say "Spain were always going to win that game."

True. I thought Italy was going to win because of their luck.

Glad to see their luck ran out (for people like you who are fanboys, yo).
