I was just making the point that talented players will usually perform better than the talented players who are vastly overhyped, like Di Natale. All we ever hear about in Italian football is how good Barzagli is, how good Di Natale is, but the fact of the matter is: they blow.

Of course they're not great but they're not that bad. I still believe coaches play a bigger part in players than your saying. So what they played in there normal positions but if the coach dosent make you feel uncomfable and makes you do jobs you dont normally do most players will not react well unless the coach makes them 100% confident in there ability and there job for victory.
I am saying they choked because they played in fear not of Spain but more of themselves of faliure, which Donadoni pumped in there heads with his tactics and mentality.

Great coaches are great motivators.

It's obvious Donadoni was partly to blame. But unlike what we saw with Juve this year, all the players the Azzurri had played below average, except for Buffon and Chiellini perhaps. This isn't very suspicious considering watching Milan in Serie A and Roma in the Champions League this year.

Totally agree. Though it could have been a different game on both ends had Italy opened things up a bit.

Definitely. Obviously they didn't want to concede any space to Villa and Torres but I'm confident they could've opened up what I consider to be a suspect Spain back four. I mean Spain had conceded a goal in every game up to this point but Italy chose to start the game with four centre midfielders, a forward on the left wing and the useless Toni.
