corriere dello sport says this will likely be the formation:

--------------buffon------------------
zambrotta-panucci-chiellini-grosso
-------------de rossi-----------------
--------gattuso-ambrosini----------
----cassano----toni--di natale------
Where's Pirlo??! He should be there instead of Ambro and I think DP deserves to keep his place (certainly more than Di Natale deserves a place in the team). Other than that I agree with that team.

i have a feeling we will see the same formation with cassano starting ahead of alex in front. He will need a lot of support from the midfield as he likes to bring other players into play, so maybe aquilani will get the nod ahead of perrota.

ambrosini over both perrotta and aquilani? Are you high or just down right insane?
What is wrong with Ambrosini? He's a fine player coming off an excellent season. Perrotta got his chance against Romania and didn't take it. We're going to need a stronger presence against France and Ambrosini can bring that.

I would play:

Buffon
Zambrotta - Panucci - Chiellini - Grosso
De Rossi - Pirlo - Ambrosini/Aquilani
Camoranesi - Toni - Cassano

If we need a goal put Camo in midfield and bring on DP or DN for Ambro/Aqui.

no creativity or service to the forwards with Gattuso and Ambro in there

I think he will play Pirlo. Pirlo has been the Azzurri's only impressive midfielder in the tournament so far so Crapadoni better start him
are you on crack ?? Pirlo has been the WORST player so far

even though Pirlo hasnt been at his best, his creativity is a must against a tough French outfit. I really dont see anybody else in the Italia squad who can distribute as well as Pirlo can. If anybody thinks otherwise, then enlighten me. Ambrosini just isnt worthy of a starting position IMO, Donadoni seems very fond of him..

ambrosini was terrible against holland, so if you think perrotta doesn't deserve to start then neither does ambrosini. IMO, Aquilani, perrotta, or even cammo are better options then ambrosini.

Lebanese? LMFAO! And your a Juve fan?

GO sit in the corner in your third world fucking country. Go fight your neighbours to start another civil war and screw you sister while your at it.

Also, if your third world uneducated ass could fucking read, I said I took Inter flags. Not Milan flags and I didn't burn them. Sorry, My country is civilized, we don't bomb eachother and start civil wars like that dirt bag of a nation you live in.

As for Enron, I mean AARON. Looking at these fucking pictures of you on your myspace I can tell your an uneducated american shitbag.
Ad hominem, which automatically denotes a loss of argument.

One attacks the man, not the idea.

1) Just because you have cars doesn't mean your country is civilized. Go grease up your face with chicken fat and inject marinara sauce up your vagina.

2) When was intelligence defined by looks? I guess Pam Anderson or Angelina Jolie sent men to the moon and invented the Internal Combustion Engine while Steven Hawking flips burgers with his teeth at McDonald's.

It's funny how that maggot points out that he only burns Inter flags, not Milan flags. What, does he have some sort of sympathy for Milan since he's not burning their flags? He says his country is civilized yet he burns Inter flags but not Milan flags on whatever street he happened to crawl upon. :lol2:

This kid is a piece of shit.

Playing for a draw looks like anything but a team deserving to go through.

Because they sat back and defended with 10 men both games? The third game of the group stage hasn't even been played yet how can you say that? They were extremely lucky to come off with a point against Italy and didn't deserve anything more against France. For all you know they will get hammered 5-0 by Holland. Romania have done themselves proud and can be much happier with their performances than Italy and France because they are a weaker team but I do not agree that you can make that assumption without seeing the final group games yet. They have played Holland in the qualifiers but haven't yet played this Holland that beat Italy and France. We will see on Tuesday who deserves to go through. If they beat Holland then I will agree with you. If they lose then the winner of the Italy-France match will deservedly take place in the next round.
Defending or not,Romania have shown more commitment than Italy or France so far.True, they havent played Holland so far,but i dont see them falling apart against the Dutch like Italy and France. They might lose, but i expect them to do it with some dignity..unlike France and Italy.

Fine average player, that's what he is.
People seem to remember the last minute goals he scores for Milan. Since his team had a disasterous season and they were usually a goal or two down in the last 30 minutes, Ambrosini was parking his ass in opponent's box, acting like a striker, waiting for high balls. Since he's tall he was getting lots of these high balls, sometimes he would score, sometimes fall/dive and ask for a penalty.
But when he was doing the job he's supposed to do, he and his two midfield partners in Milan were being destroyed and humiliated by all the Napolis and Sampdorias of serie A, just like they were destroyed by Holland last week.

But what more can one expect from him ? He was an eternal sub in Milan, until Ancelotti lacked options in midfield and started playing him more. Then he had a solid half season when Kaka was having the form of his life and made everyone around him play better, and suddenly Ambrosini becomes a great player and regular starter for the azzurri.

Now watch how Flamini takes his place in Milan and puts Ambrosini on the same bench where he spent 80% of his career (and the same bad bench that injured Dida).
If he was playing for Inter he would have been a 3rd choice sub. In Juve he'll never see playing time with Sissoko around. In Roma he'll also be a sub.

Dirty little washed up average sub. That's what he is !

Del Piero & Pirlo Dropped!

The Azzurri’s Euro 2008 destiny is out of their own hands, and they simply must go for the win in their match against France to give themselves the best chance of qualifying for the quarter finals.

Italy coach Roberto Donadoni made five changes for the 1-1 draw against Romania, and it now seems that he is set to make some more tweaks for the match against France.

One thing is certain and that is that Del Piero, who was a major disappointment against Romania, will be on the bench, with Antonio Cassano taking his starting place.

Simone Perrotta will also definitely drop out, while there are strong reports that Andrea Pirlo will also be axed. Donadoni wants a stronger base in midfield, and will bring back Milan duo Gennaro Gattuso and Massimo Ambrsoini, despite their under-par displays in the 3-0 thumping by Holland.

The only other question mark is over the place of Mauro Camoranesi. The Juve man was outstanding in the first half against Romania, but tired as the game wore on. Donadoni is considering freshening things up and unleashing Antonio Di Natale on France’s ageing backline.

Gianluigi Buffon will be handed the captaincy again now that Del Piero is on the bench.
