What is wrong with Ambrosini? He's a fine player coming off an excellent season. Perrotta got his chance against Romania and didn't take it. We're going to need a stronger presence against France and Ambrosini can bring that.
I would play:
Buffon
Zambrotta - Panucci - Chiellini - Grosso
De Rossi - Pirlo - Ambrosini/Aquilani
Camoranesi - Toni - Cassano
If we need a goal put Camo in midfield and bring on DP or DN for Ambro/Aqui.

even though Pirlo hasnt been at his best, his creativity is a must against a tough French outfit. I really dont see anybody else in the Italia squad who can distribute as well as Pirlo can. If anybody thinks otherwise, then enlighten me. Ambrosini just isnt worthy of a starting position IMO, Donadoni seems very fond of him..

It's funny how that maggot points out that he only burns Inter flags, not Milan flags. What, does he have some sort of sympathy for Milan since he's not burning their flags? He says his country is civilized yet he burns Inter flags but not Milan flags on whatever street he happened to crawl upon.

Since his team had a disasterous season and they were usually a goal or two down in the last 30 minutes, Ambrosini was parking his ass in opponent's box, acting like a striker, waiting for high balls. Since he's tall he was getting lots of these high balls, sometimes he would score, sometimes fall/dive and ask for a penalty.
But when he was doing the job he's supposed to do, he and his two midfield partners in Milan were being destroyed and humiliated by all the Napolis and Sampdorias of serie A, just like they were destroyed by Holland last week.
But what more can one expect from him ? He was an eternal sub in Milan, until Ancelotti lacked options in midfield and started playing him more. Then he had a solid half season when Kaka was having the form of his life and made everyone around him play better, and suddenly Ambrosini becomes a great player and regular starter for the azzurri.
Now watch how Flamini takes his place in Milan and puts Ambrosini on the same bench where he spent 80% of his career (and the same bad bench that injured Dida).
If he was playing for Inter he would have been a 3rd choice sub. In Juve he'll never see playing time with Sissoko around. In Roma he'll also be a sub.

The Azzurri’s Euro 2008 destiny is out of their own hands, and they simply must go for the win in their match against France to give themselves the best chance of qualifying for the quarter finals.
Italy coach Roberto Donadoni made five changes for the 1-1 draw against Romania, and it now seems that he is set to make some more tweaks for the match against France.
One thing is certain and that is that Del Piero, who was a major disappointment against Romania, will be on the bench, with Antonio Cassano taking his starting place.
Simone Perrotta will also definitely drop out, while there are strong reports that Andrea Pirlo will also be axed. Donadoni wants a stronger base in midfield, and will bring back Milan duo Gennaro Gattuso and Massimo Ambrsoini, despite their under-par displays in the 3-0 thumping by Holland.
The only other question mark is over the place of Mauro Camoranesi. The Juve man was outstanding in the first half against Romania, but tired as the game wore on. Donadoni is considering freshening things up and unleashing Antonio Di Natale on France’s ageing backline.
