You are supporting Holland on facebook and you called them "my guys".

I'm not implying that I don't understand what you mean, just saying that it's a fine line indeed. Add to that the fact that EVERYONE I know in Belgium is either for or against Italy and I would say it's perfectly comprehensible to support the Azzurri and not in the least bit retarded.

Speaking with "we" is stupid even when you're talking about Juventus. We is the team, fans are not the team.
I don't support Holland. Rather, the only reason why I like them is because they play wonderful football and do wonders for the game, plus I chose them as eventual winners.

So did I as a matter of fact. But sadly enough I chose them not so much for the football they play as the fact I calculated that it was their "turn" to win it. They still play good football though.

Still, I think you're too harsh on Azzurri fans, especially as Italy is a country that will always divide people into for and against. At least, that's how it is in Belgium. And trust me, most people are against, so it's not at all fashionable to be an Azzurri fan.

The fix is possible, but not expected. If Holland do it,ill be pissed, but i wont blame the dutch for it.They'd be doing what's best for them.Having said that,Romania are capable of winning even without the fix.

The emphasis should be on 'The Team You Support'. and not 'Your Country'.If we're going to get into the 'your country' logic, then perhaps none of us should be supporting Juventus unless we're from Turin. If we can call an Italian club called Juventus 'our team' despite being Croats,Americans,Arabs and what not..why cant we call Italy 'our team' based on the same logic?
Because there is a certain thing called patriotism that makes the difference between a national tam and a football club from Turin.
You don't just wake up in the morning and decide to be a patriot. You learn it during your life. You don't chose to support your country, you're chosen to do that.

Juve is a personal choice. It's not the word you hear from your parents when you're three, it's not the name of the song you learn in first grade, you don't go at war for Juve and you don't die in Juve's name. Croats, Swedes, South Americans, French, Africans....they are all part of Juve, which makes Juve an international institution.

No-one tells people not to support another national team, especially when your own isn't playing in the same tournament. But don't act like you're bigger pope than the pope himself.
And i'm not talking about you and those who moaned about the disallowed goal. But there was a guy from Russia who called Jack a Swedish pig because Jack dared not to support Italy and there was a guy from east Asia threatening to kill the referee.

Am not denying that referee's are not making mistakes but that is part of the game. We all know that WC 2006 italy got some lucky calls & it was all ok for the italians. What irks me is when things go against the azzuri there is so much whining.
In this euro italy's best player so far has been Cassano & what has he done? Spent half of the group stages on the bench. What about Toni? Ahh toni if he was so hot he definitely should have scored more than 3 goals now. He wasted so many chances against Romania it's not even funny.
And to top it all the italians requested UEFA to pressure holland to play their first team in the last game. Retards if you ask me. That is so pathetic! How low can the world champions get?

The Scandinavians and the Dutch are lining up a conspiracy.
Dirty Northern Europeans again. :disagree:

In the United States, it's fashionable to even know what the Euros are.

And I don't think I'm being too harsh on Azzurri fans because this sort of thing is all too common sitting back at a neutral standpoint, which is why I eventually started acting the way I have this tournament.

The 2-2 game was a fix and Italians have every right to be outraged because of it. There was an obvious agreement between the two nations with an entire stadium holding racist banners such as: send the spaghetti eaters home.

I don't think anyone should laugh about it, because it was one of the saddest pages of football, both on a humane and football level.

If Holland lose against Romania however, I won't consider it a fix. They will field second string players and have every right to do so. A fix means playing for a certain result. I think Holland could care less and are not playing for any result whatsoever.

Have to agree. This is why I'm cracking down on the Azzurri in this tournament. This behavior is particularly annoying.

The fact that there are people who divide into for and against make it all sweeter and you know exactly what I mean. I am sure that you know how to abuse this situation and you know that it doesn't recquire extra brain to be able to do that, actually it does, but only a bit more brain and the fun begins.
It is indeed what can make football sweet and what can make it horrible at other times. I don't think you have seen me complaining about your or Andy's behaviour and I think Azzurri fans deserve to be taunted every once in a while, but it's not fair to simply dismiss the refereeing errors and use easy, nationalistic, borderline racist, comments (although it's not you nor Andy I'm accusing of this, rather Belgian and Dutch media).

we won the world cup because we were the best team, sure we had our slice of luck but there were no controversial decisions from referees which had a deciding factor in the games. These Euro's have been ridiculed with bad refereeing not only against Italy, but against a host of nations. It makes me sick that the media target Italy all the time. Your either with us or against us, simple. You are the pathetic one, retard!

Like ive said, its personal prefrence. Will you point a finger at someone who has a perfectly good national team but chooses to support another team over it?
Patriotism isnt something that is thrust into you anyway. You develop it on your own.I love my country, and i support them wholeheartedly whenever they participate in sports like Cricket,Hockey etc.

I get what you're saying, but i certainly dont agree with it.Perhaps non-Italian Azzuri fans wont be as passionate about the team as Italians themselves, but you cant question a person's personal prefrence. And i certainly didnt moan about the unallowed goal.I havent blamed the ref even once. But since you're talking about the east indian and the Russian, then yes, they do deserve to be ridiculed. The thing is that the ridicule aimed at them spreads to every Italy fan here, conciously or unconciously.

The dive against Australia is controversial but you choose to close an eye on it.
Indeed.

Werent you against the Toni criticism?Yet you find Ali's post very 'aggreable'.

Seriously..
I was against the Toni criticism because he too was being used as a scapegoat. But it is obvious he's been sub par during this tournament, which is pretty much the entire side besides Buffon.
