Which is what every Italy fan on this forum has done for the last 24 odd hours. But anyway.Italy got owned.Should have probably lost 7-0 or somethng.
true that. I just watched the highlights again and we were unbelievably bad even Austria preformed better than us

You don't think they were the better team in the second half? They clearly were.
Yes and No. They did control the game, but that's to be expected from a team like Italy when down 2 goals. They weren't better in the second half because they didn't convert their chances, they had quite a few good ones.

They're not pathetic, their performance was. BIG difference!
This team has no defence. They lack a topclass finisher. They rely on a striker upfront who has never really been as good for the NT as he's been for his club side..And yes,age is catching up with them too.I think i heard the commentator say that Italy have the oldest squad in the competition.Perhaps i exaggerated, but this team is still poor. The hole left behind by Nesta and Cannavaro is huge,Del Piero isnt getting younger,Zambrotta doesnt have many more top years left in him,Gattuso has lost his fizz..Whats even more worrying is that the young talent at home is still very raw,and Italy might not be able to put up a strong show at the 2010 finals too.

It doesnt make for very good reading.

Now if Italy qualified second who will they face in second round?
Holland will be semi final right?
I don't care if Italy wins the cup I just want them to face Holland again and defeat them, although it may end up in another thrashing

The most concerning thing is the central defence for sure.

Still, you're exaggerating dude! I mean if the Italian team is pathetic, then what do you call this?

Just kidding dude, but I still think you are exaggerating, especially about Zambro. You cannot epect him to take care of a defense like that and still be inspiring upfront while getting no relief from the other side (Panucci).

Id say the striker's position is very concerning too.Which young goal scorer do Italy have?Vieri has left a big gap too.Gilardino isnt really a youngster anymore, but even if he does reinvent himself,Italy need a youngster who can do well for them consistently.Toni isnt the answer.Gilardino isnt the answer either. In Cassano Italy do have a support striker to take over from where Del Piero has left off,but Vieri's heir is no where in sight.

How can you be so sure that we are going to own Romania, did you see how well they did against France?
No I saw how uninspired France really is. They can only hope that Henry gets into the game like hell, otherwise leaving Trez at home will prove very very costly considering their offensive "work" I saw against Romania.
