Still, you're exaggerating dude! I mean if the Italian team is pathetic, then what do you call this?

Just kidding dude, but I still think you are exaggerating, especially about Zambro. You cannot epect him to take care of a defense like that and still be inspiring upfront while getting no relief from the other side (Panucci).
If the Italian team is pathetic, then the chart you presented is insanely pathetic:D

Defense has always been Italy's strong point. And right now its in shambles.Surely you realize that. When a country that has probably produced the greatest defenders of all time cannot find a decent central pairing,it is a cause of serious alarm.

I sincerely hope im proven wrong though.

No I saw how uninspired France really is. They can only hope that Henry gets into the game like hell, otherwise leaving Trez at home will prove very very costly considering their offensive "work" I saw against Romania.
just like us uninspired except we have a worse coach aswell
you have to give credit to romania, they were tactically astute, Something which we were'nt

One bad game and you call our team pathetic  Have some faith man. They're gonna own Romania on Friday and you'll praise them to high heaven afterwards anyways.
owning romania wouldn't be such a large accomplishment being that now you are dead last in the group. depending on how the other match goes i can tell you that its not that hard for romania to steal a few goals from italy.

with a swiss cheese-like defense that italy plays with its gonna be scary match for the greatest team the world has ever seen >> the azzurri

Being better doesn't mean one was actually better in football. Best example is Greece four years ago. All the teams they faced were better than them but not better enough to actually win.

Italy were better but not better enough to make an impact. In my opinion when a team has to make an impact they have to be better by a certain margin and Italy were far from that margin last night.
Who cares about any of that shit you're talking about? I never said they were so good in the second half that they deserved something from the game, I merely said that they were the better team in the second half, which they were. They could've scored quite easily, they just didn't. They were the better team in that half although over the course of 90 minutes Holland were clearly superior.

Not even debatable.

:agree: we have never really been renowned for producing legendary attackers. Its our defense that pulls us through and now we don't have one thats capable, it almost seems impossible to get past the group stages

Yea I didn't mean to belittle Romania's performance, it was very decent.

Worse coach eh? I don't know, I think Raymond Domenech made a couple of bad choices already too. I really don't know who I think is a worse coach right now, Don or Dom :) And don't tell me Domenech brought France to the Final, because Zidane did!

Already people underrating Romania.

Play like you did last night against Holland, and you'll end up losers to the Romanians.
exactly, people think we are walk all over them. But mark my words they will give us a real game alright.
I can even say that I can sense a frustrating draw coming up in which we waste some golden oppertunites

Italy's midfield looks good for 2010. They have good support strikers as well with Cassano, Giovinco and Rossi. What they need to find between now and the World Cup is a goalscorer and defenders. Chiellini should be fit to command a place in the team by that time so hopefully someone like Coda or Criscito develops well.

The defence was the worst, it was so horrible it's indescribable

My next concern wouldn't be Toni and Di Natale though. Di Natale was the better player in a shit lineup whether he should start ahead of DP / Cassano is a different debate but for last night, let's just say he's not the one I want to strangle

In last nights game Toni was obviously disappointing although I dont know if he is to blame or if he wasnt getting the service he should have.

I thought the midfield was absofuckinglutely CRAP. Pirlo was the only one who was seen with the ball and even so he held on the ball for too long sometimes and lost it unnecessarily. Camoranesi might as well have not played. I think Ambro AND gattuso should be out for the next game.

I think Italy will win against Romania, but not convincingly.I expect a charged up performance in the first half where they'll own Romania, and then crumble in the second half when Romania counter.A 2-1 win perhaps.

Santacroce is the best future defender in Italy

Lets just hope the Azzurri doesn't have the same attitude as this guy...

A couple of goals? Is that want you believe or what you want to believe? Seriously, lay off the :claire:
Yeah, Romania doesn't pose a threat at all.

I predict 6-0 Italia.

I second that, except I expect them to be very motivated because they'll be looking to make good for the last game. But they will of course cease to play should they be 2 goals up no doubt.

They were so much better they conceded another goal and could have conceded another 2.
They were obviously going to be vulnerable at the back so that's understandable (I'm not sure which 2 other chances you're talking about, although maybe you mean those efforts by Van Persie and Affelay when the game was dead). What I'm saying is that Italy played better football in the second half, I don't think anyone can disagree with that. Since you're talking about what Holland could have done, Italy could have scored through Zambrotta, Grosso, Pirlo, Del Piero or Toni.
