The assistant ref must have eyes on his ass to make that call go Italy's way so that goal was in no way fair, however Di Natale's goal was wrongly disallowed so it makes up for that I guess.

As you all know this is typical of Italy. Always take their fans to the brink of a heart attack before qualifying. You gotta to love their love for drama :D
Thumbs up for the Scots.

with all honesty i dont see how this italy team will play in euro come next summer. i think scotland played really well tonight but i guess its just not there night. congrats for italy's win i'm glad they got thru but will have to work really hard if they want to move on in the tournment.

Now if only Donadoni gets the sack soon.It would all be perfect.
Exactly...

Honestly, I cared only about Juve players in the Azzurri:

1- Buffon: Was good.
2- Camoranesi: Not himself. He was not brilliant.
3- Chiellini: He should relax. Life is much easier than that.
4- Iaquinta: Who?

Well, I agree, but I was dismissive of our chances before WC 2006. How we'll do is dependant on so many factors that it's impossible to predict.

I have some questions for this un-prof coach called Donadoni.

1- Why not start with Iaquinta?

2- Do you always wait to concede goal in order to make changes?

3- Why isn't C. Zanetti called?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

My ratings for this game

Buffon 6 [not his fault when Italy conceded the goal]

Pannuci 6 [apart from the goal wasn't impressive, Chiellini deserve that place more and I'm not being biased]

Barza 6.5 [Defended well and played the offside tactic pretty good]

Cannavaro 7 [Decent game with no mistakes]

Zambrotta 6 [He looks slower than before, could be due to rain but he did his job pretty well]

Pirlo 6.5 [I can't stand him when he takes freekicks, it's really weird the way he does plus he isn't the player he used to take them couple of years ago, was moving alot and assisted the 2nd goal]

Gattuso 7 [Moved alot on the pitch, looked really fast and had some decent passes and crosses apart from defending well]

Ambrosini 6 [He's got stamina like usually]

Camoranesi 5.5 [Had couple of good moves and run but other than that he did nothing, bad passes, lost several balls]

Di Natale 5.5 [The only good thing he did was giving pass to Toni in the 2nd min, were it not for that I would have given him 5]

Toni 7 [Pretty good striker and very helpful, he's selfish at times and very slow, but he's good]

Donadoni 5 Why It took you time to introduce Iaquinta?? Why not change the system in the middle when they started putting pressure on your team?

This man is pretty lucky to be in Swiss and Austria, were it not for few experienced champs like Toni, Inzaghi, Cannavaro, Gattuso he would be now sitting home instead of standing at the bench.

I agree... I think the core is reaching the end, they have an incompent coach, and there's too much reliance on players past their best-before date.

Time to get Rosina, De Rossi, Aquilani, Nocerino, Chiellini, Montolivo, Palladino into this team on a more permanent basis. Perhaps even give Giovinco, Cigarini, Canini, Coda, De Ceglie and Marchisio a chance at the international level and see if they can fit in. Without a serious injection of youth, this team is going to be ripped apart in a year's time.

The same linesmen who robs Italy of a goal in the 1st half, gifts Scotland a bullshit 1 in the 2nd half.

With better officiating, the game would have been sealed long b4 the non-stop pressure in the last 15 minutes.

Well, despite what my heritage suggests, I was pulling for Scotland during this match. Unfortunately, Italians did what they have done for years now and took advantage of a poor call by the linesman. As far as I'm concerned, they don't deserve to be in Euro 2008, although brilliant tactician Roberto Donadoni certainly seems to think so.

Why am I not surprised? England's favourite son giving his country a truckload of encouragement. Listen you Italo-Jewish-(insert other trendy/beneficial ethnicity here): GO FOR YOUR OWN NATIONAL TEAM.

wtf is ambro doing for italy? zanetti instead of ambro, we could do with a proper holding mid like zanetti, not a f*cking pony like ambro

as for scotland moaning, their goal was offside, our goal was wrongfully disallowed we get a controversial fk - justice served. scotland have nothing but themselves to blame for not securing the game, they were so poor most of the first half and were lucky not to have gone into h/t 3/4 -0 down

I'm killa happy the Azzuri are through. I will not complain about anything - Italy always grind out results, nothing flashy, but the job gets done so I let go of being dissapointed by the nature of play looooong ago! It was always gonna be a tough game. Those Scots played out of their skin.

Now for Israel to do us all a favour and ensure theres not British team in Euro 08!

"We didn't deserve that, to lose that game, we battered them in the second half and they were dead men walking at the end. The set-piece that led to their second goal was an unbelievable decision."
Scotland boss Alex McLeish

And on a more important thing, is that you, Bozi??
