The performance was very mediocre and on this evidence I doubt Italy can draw in Scotland, let alone win.

The team does not look cohesive and the play is not creative enough.

They are reliant on isolated moments of magic.

I am delighted with the win, but I feel very disappointed with the performance.

We haven't looked like world champions since July 06, and have struggled in every game since DONEadoni took over

I dont agree with his tactics, formations, and some of his player selections, and because of this, I fear that we wont beat Scotland next month

Georgia is a mediocre team at best, and at times we struggled as if we were playing France, or another top team

my ratings-

Buffon 7- Not really tested... did what was necessary

Oddo 5.5- Since his move to Milan, I havent been impressed with him. His defending is average at best, his crosses are terrible, and his dribbling needs much improvement

Barzagli 6- Played a decent game, and made no noticeable mistakes

Panucci 6.5- I thought he did well in the CB role, and had some good pace to go along with it

Grosso 6- I would have picked Chellini over him to start, as Grosso isnt in great form at Lyon. He was pretty anonymous until he scored the goal

Gattuso 6.5- The guy never stops running, breaking up plays....had a few nice moves with the ball as well today

Pirlo 6- A nice goal from distance, otherwise was pretty average out there today

Ambrosini 6- Just like Gattuso, he breaks up the play all over the place, but I think he needs some work with his passing

Quagliarella 5- Like I said in the pregame talk, a one-hit wonder. Dont call him back until he shows his worth with Udinese, I wont hold my breath

Toni 6- Had some clear-cut chances that he should have put away, but never stopped trying

Di Natale 6- Didnt get many chances on net, but continuously came back to assist the middies, and started many attacks from almost at midfield

Mauri and Foggia- NR

DONEadoni 4.5- thank God it ws only Georgia out there today...will this clown have the right answers against Scotland ??

I just watched the game on Telemundo since well I had to recover from last night during the actual game time and oh, Fabi wasn't invisible the whole game. He had a couple of good shots on the goal while doing what he does best defend. He plays calcio not french football and not Inter football. He needs to be with a real Italian team to shine and it definitely showed today plus I haven't seen him as happy as I have during this game and all his training photos all year.
All I've learned this past week is that we need Fabi back in Serie A. He doesn't belong there at Lyon! I am so glad he scored (I've been prayng for him to succeed and he was the only one I said should score in this game alongside Toto and he so pulled through). I definitely think he deserved to be in this game over Chiellini because Fabi always does it for us when we need him to. And we all know I love me some Chiellini but, Fabi is the best.
Free Fabi!!

Oh and I totally forgot to post this because I am so proud! Here are the call ups for the friendly against South Africa!

Amelia, Curci, Zaccardo, Mesto, Bonera, Gamberini, Paolo Cannavaro, Chiellini, Dossena, De Rossi, Palombo, Nocerino, Montolivo, Semioli, Foggia, Mauri, Rosina, Lucarelli, Gilardino e Iaquinta

ITS NOCERINO'S FIRST CALL UP!!!!!! I am so proud and have definitely settled in on Cloud 9 first the Azzurri win and then my Nocerino gets called up the same day. Not too mention my fave Zaccardo got called up...oh how I have missed him! This day can only get better. The only person who is really missing from this list is Pazzini but, whatever Nocerino got called up....maybe next time. :weee:

I thought it was a typical qualifier against below average opposition. I was very underwhelmed by the performance against a team that showed virtually zero ambition.

Ok I just said Britney has a great DANCE album obviously no one in this thread goes out clubbing and enjoys dancing other than me. I know she isn't the queen of music but her album is a great dance album BUT on to Zaccardo. Are we never going to forgive Zaccardo for what happened on that day? Maybe it was the Ronaldinho of own goals but, he just made a mistake the whole Azzurri forgave him and so can I.

Its not about 'what happened on that day' even before 'that day' i didn't like him. btw why are you referring to it as 'that day', cant even bring yourself to say the words, can you? :D

No I don't really like to talk about it. :frown: I used to be indifferent towards him but always thought he was a good player imo. After I read a couple of articles about him and some interviews, I kind of changed my mind. I decided I really liked him and I have wanted him to get called up by Donadoni even if it is just a friendly. He's not my top ten but, I've missed seeing him on the Azzurri along with other players but, he is the one that stood out to me in this list other than the obvious.

I just don't get why we can't be friends

I got it from the juventusmemberr website thing since I am a member but, they for some reason took down most of the photos the only photos I have saved are of Palladino, Iaquinta, and Nocerino.

Good point of view u have.. agree with u 100% but i still think the Azzuri can beat Scotland even if they dont improve due to the moments of brilliance you commented on before
