I don't know why anyone would choose to leave out Gattuso for this game.

I would probably play De Rossi as well.

I think Chiellini should play, because France got abundance of speed with Anelka (Who I think would play), Henry, and Ribery. So it would be wise for Donadoni who can hold ground in physical terms with those French atheletes. But Canna is a must start. His experience, organization, and leadership are vital for this match. Beside if you got a workhorse like Chiellini doing many dirty things for you, I think Canna can focus on his strenghts, and lead the team by example.

I would personally start a line up of;

Buffon; Oddo, Canna (C), Chiellini, Zambrotta; Pirlo; Gattuso, De Rossi; Foggia, Camo; Toni.

I know Donadoni wont start Foggia, but I think he should start because out of the forwards Italia have I feel Foggia has most penetration with his skill, and pace. He also has favorable goal scoring record compared to Quagliarella or Di Natale, and given Di Natale is in middle of contract negotiation, and Quagliarella doesnt seem to be on top form, I cant see why Foggia should not be picked against France.

A couple of injuries would be good too, so it is a shame Matrix won't play but at least Gattuso will be there.
