Saw them filming scenes in Spring in and around Rome....
streets were closed for some sort of chase scene involving Italian Police (Carbin.) and Brad Pitt.
    Great, you live in Rome?

Did you get your mug in for a background appearance?
noooooooooo...the set was extra tight with security...streets closed for the whole day. Usually extras (people you see pretending to do everyday things in the background) are hired by local casting agencies ahead of time.

They also filmed scenes in Sicily for a few weeks.

it was a re-make of the original OCEANS ELEVEN with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin..not sure which CASINO your talking about..hope not the Martin Scorsese picture because it has absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
More over, if you have seen the original there is no doubt that the new one was MUCH MUCH more entertaining with all due respect to the rat pack.

De Niro's movie was based on the true story of a Las Vegas Casino manager: had nothing to do with Ocean's Eleven whatsoever. its not a remake of Casino : Oceans Eleven is about 11 career crooks robbing a Las Vegas Casino.
