Okay, Bes. We have all heard the reasoning behind why Capello should be blamed for our failures, however I have not seen one post yet that successfully defends him. We have continually underperformed in Europe over the past two years, and are on the brink of elimination once again to yet another inferior English side. Is it all the players' fault....players such as Ibrahimovic who should not be playing anyway or Camoranesi who has been somewhat neglected by Capello? Is it their fault, or the fault of the manager for always fielding the same players and never insipring our side to actually seem like we give a damn? Like I said before, this is simply not a Juventus side. Please tell me why Capello is not to blame...I would seriously love to hear your arguments..

Of course not. But I am genuinly interested in hearing an argument that successfully defends Capello, because I have not seen one yet. I guess I'm going on a safari looking for penguins here..

because

we know it is not capello who really contolls the team (at least not by himself)
we know what it means to change coaches frequently
we know what capello has achieved (it cant all be luck, he IS a good coach)
we know every coach has his favourites
we know del piero couldnt go on playing every single game (last year)
and last but not least, name a coach who doesnt have a favourite and a non so favourit

I don't see Lippi underachieving in the CL with this kind of talent the way Don Fabio has. Particularly when you know what this squad is capable of in domestic play.

Not to say I want Lippi back -- he had his time. But a coach's job is to bring the best out of his players. We've gotten quite the opposite in the CL.

LOL one or two performances you say? All our performances in the latter stages of the Champions League barring the Delle Alpi win against Madrid have been complete and utter shite. So that means I'm counting SIX performances alone in the Champions League, notincluding the group stages and not including miserable performances in the Serie A this year. That's six + some number that tends to, well, a bunch. Again, how is this not Capello's fault? We need something more than just "this has happened before."

What matters at the end of the day- is the end result. Yes, we might not have been playing as colourful as a couple of other teams, but we're still in the competition, and until we're out- it is inaccurate to say that the tactics were wrong.
