Was he good at Coventry?
Yeah he was, eventually. Championship is a very tough league and it took him a while to figure it out but he suddenly became a bit of a one man battering ram and led the line very well. Something clicked and he became very confident.

With Sporting he's obviously gone up a level playing with better technical players. I'd say the Championship has some teams that are better than those at the mid and bottom end of the Portuguese league, but it's a different type of football. He's done it in EL and CL as well so it's not just the domestic league where some teams are a bit of cannon fodder.

I've said before but I don't feel like he's a natural finisher, he's more relentless and will just keep being direct regardless.

I also tought Championship is tough but then Mitrovic arrived and literally raped the whole league.

I never really rated him. But over the past years he did show he can score. At this point I'm sad we didn't get him instead of Vlahovic and I still believe he'd destroy Serie A as well.

All about the team he plays in, as Fulham were super attacking and centred around him. When he played for Newcastle in the same league he scored 4 goals or something. It's also easy to forget that the league has 46 games so if a player scores 25 goals it's good but not amazing. His 43 goals or whatever it was was an absolute anomoly and won't be repeated. Top scorer this season had only 19 goals, but Leeds had lots of different contributors.

People will be suprised by Gyokeres in EPL. If you watch him live, and I have between when he used to get random call up to NTs C squads years ago, to now as the main guy with Isak. Huge difference.

And it's like Jay says, it's like confidence switch. The dude is just legit improved massively as a player over time. He is relentless, dynamic and precise at his actions. He scored at every level in consistent way during this hot streak seasons, not just in Portuguese league, but he looks just as effortless scoring for NT and CL/EL etc.

Market value €40m :lol3:
Farmers league valuation for example

Isak valued 120m, saka is 150m, rice 120m

Desire doue 90m Dembele 90m Vitinha 80m

Kelly bought for 17m from premier league. Had he played and originated from farmers league he would be worth 5m

The issue is wages, no? PSG are working on reducing their wage bill.

He's earning around €10-12 million a year at PSG and won't take a paycut. Insane money for a goalkeeper, but arguably he's the best in the world.
