Ironic how the English press is moaning about the Saudi league and its money, when the EPL literally destroyed European football.
Pretty sure Italian football destroyed itself. Can’t blame the English for Calciopoli, Italian bureaucracy, and zero planning into their clubs’ profitability.

The insane money era started with the Galacticos not Chelsea. And it’s the Spanish league that has been dominant for the last decade not the English (in terms of trophies)

Your overall point stands ofc. They should be the last to complain about being outspent on the market since they’ve been doing that to everyone else for over a decade now

I'm talking about Europe not just Serie A. Real Madrid where an exception to the rule, however the gulf in money is too large between the EPL and the rest. A midtable team in EPL can spend more than any Serie A team. Perhaps it's best that football is moving to Asia. I'm done with the same league buying everyone in Europe.

I don't think people pay more to see it as much as their fan base is much larger. They speak English, so it's easy for Americans to watch, which sucks.
Ah so English is the only EPL advantage? When Serie A was the best league in the 90s was Italian the language of the world?
Also is it only US? They have a bigger fanbase pretty much everywhere.

No, I think it's money. That's all.
Exactly. The EPL was pretty poor in the 90s. Saudi is essentially following the EPL model. Can we honestly say that Saudi Arabia provides the better product than the European teams? With the rate where this is going the best players will eventually end up in the Middle East.

The EPL literally took all the players from Europe. Had they not had the cash, the likes of Haaland would be at Dortmund right now.

This is legit funny. Comparing EPL TV deals to oil money is just lol. keep feeding the delusion.

Nah it's not.
Literally most of the big names in the EPL were bought out last two decades (since 2003). Even nothing teams like Man City and now Newcastle.
Also, SkySports do pay ridiculously amount. You cannot convince me that the EPL was a better product when Abramovic bought Chelsea. In fact, the EPL was relatively poor at the time, and the English national team is laughably poor in international competitions.

It's the oil money that made the EPL great.

1. Man City - oil
2. Newcastle - Oil
3. Chelsea - oil

Am I missing something?

1- What was Moratti’s business?
2- How is Chelsea and City spending related to the TV deal? Bottom EPL teams make as much in TV as top Serie A teams
3- Newcastle was purchased just last year
