West Ham were basically gifted their stadium by the City of London at taxpayers expense (they paid about 18m of the total 415m cost), so there is that.

Villa Park is also about 40k last time I checked so probably close.

I been to West Ham stadium, both older and new one.

Found both to be shite.

Best thing about the older one was them abusing Rooney all game with granny shagger chants lol. To the point he moved away from taking corners and throw ins lol

So did Chelsea have a plan after all or are they just incredibly fortunate with the timing of the Saudi investment?

Nothing to do with fortunate, its clearly shady, just recently the Saudis bought major stake in the holding company that owns Chelsea, and Chelsea who have FFP issues are out of the blue selling 4 deadwood on their books to the Saudis.

They not officially one of the owners Chelsea, but they did it in a round about way, that's the shady part. They have vested interest in helping Chelsea out.
