Lol, Donny van De Beek is a 2.0 version (little bit better) of Davy Klaassen who failed at Everton and Wolfsburg. He is nothing special.
The recent successes of Eredivisie players going to the Prem has been really mixed. We had Luis Suarez signing for Liverpool and is probably the second greatest striker in Premier League history (only overtaken by Van Nistelrooy), but we also had Vincent Jansen going to Tottenham and barely scoring. We had Wijnaldum going to Newcastle setting the league on fire but we also had Davy Klaassen failing at Everton. Considering we are the founders of totaalvoetbal and improved the current game so much also means we barely play against packed defences in the Eredivisie. Most games are open and players have freedom to express their talents in the attacking third quite often. Other leagues, like the Prem sees a lot lesser teams, parking the bus which seems difficult to adapt to for most players.

The only clear distinction one could easily see is that Ajax players moving abroad have been extremely successful these recent times. De Ligt, Frenkie De Jong, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Eriksen and Suarez are just a few examples of players who made a transfer and were extremely successful.

You really think so? He was damn impressive in their CL campaign and for what he's worth I think he has qualitys that suit union. He's workrate, off the ball movement and unpredictability gives them something they didn't have. I think he will be a success, hopefully he won't and flops hard.

Tonali Meelan done.
and it's a loan + option according to the rumors. i bet there are some conditions to make it an obligation. either way, i wonder why no big club wanted the guy. he had a disappointing 2nd half of the season, but he's still one of the brightest italian midfield talents.

Well it's 10m loan , with 20m option .

So even if Milan decides not to sign him , someone else will sign for 20m next year :)

I think he will flop. He fit in beautifully with that Ajax team where everyone had a particular role and the team synergized so well. With United, it's more like a mish-mash of players with no cohesion and no real style of play (kinda like us for the last couple of years).
