Liverpool dont have the depth to disturb City in the league. Their starting 11 is top level quality, but after that? Nah. For example look at Mane not being ready tonight, who comes in? Origi....while City usually has 3 Mane level skilled attackers ON their bench, Mahrez, Sane and Jesus. And their midfield depth is the best in the world.

Liverpool were admirable in their effort last season, maximised their potential, but one injury to key player and they are done almost (while City could survive over half a season without De Bruyne, didnt miss a beat almost). Its understandable to not want to rock the boat when you won CL, but defenitely could used some top quality rotation options. Maybe Chamberlain coming back is exactly what they need.

They rode their luck massively in the league last season too, so many squeaky 1-0 wins and shitty performances where they would normally lose or draw and they still somehow kept them in it all the way til the end. No way it’ll go down to the final round of the season. City will walk the league, probably by at least a 12 point margin.

so basically they are juve?

because thats exactly how we did it.

and to osman's point. we are one ronaldo injury away from disaster ( if we don't keep higuain)

because no one else can score goals

We arent going to do much of anything in CL IMO even with Ronaldo, dont see significant enough improvement besides De Light and couple decent mid options.

So dont expect disaster there, and for the league, we won 7 straight league titles without Ronaldo.

Idk, I think our team got a lot better. Very excited about next season.
I hope we did, but it remains to be seen.

My biggiest question mark is ofcourse our coach, dont trust him to take us to the next level. I expected us to balance the questionable coaching choice by giving him a big improvement mercato, but besides De Ligt (amazing signing), I dont see it as that it factor level improvement (Rabiot and Ramsey are good/serviceable, but dont think former will be enough improvement or latter healthy enough). It doesnt help we weakend our RB (and depth in general fullbacks) by a fair bit. And seem to have no clube whatsoever what we want to do with our attack.

I'm excited about a bit more attacking football, but not exciting for our prospects for major improvement for CL.

@Osman

Yep, it's to be seen. I just never rated Cancelo that much. And a fan of both Rabiot and Ramsey, I think both of them are wc players. Sarri is a big question mark, of course, but for some reason, I'm rather optimistic about his regard.

Its about the huge technical/attacking weapon Cancelo was in a team that been a bit limited in that regard (we badly need players to unlock set defenses, he did that alot). Fine with a sale if its a must, but incredibly dissapointed with his replacement.

I REALLY like Ramsey, I expect him the most from our new signings (except the wonderkid De Ligt lol, still cant believe we signed him), he is very experienced and is defenitely going to suprise lots of you here with how skilled he is, complete midfielder, Ronaldo will thrive off his passes and smart attacking runs (HUGE improvement compared to Matuidi being most attacking CM for us last season). But I'm not gonna get my hopes up until I see he remains healthy for a while. Rabiot is good/solid balanced CM, slick short passing and stature. But IMO he seems to be a bit overrated in this forum so far, people expecting a top mid or a difference maker, when he will mainly play it safe, wont have much of a game going forward (Marchisio comparison here, his shooting is Marchisio level lol, barely scores).

We forget this is not a Juve related thread lol, to stay on topic, the biggiest wtf signing of this summer for me (until Balotelli joins Flamengo haha), I know he is kind of a forgotten guy, but he is real quality and used to be one of my favourite AMs. Going to Segunda division is head scratcher....

gonna disagree there, cuz.

regarding CL: Ronaldo was exactly the type of player missing in CL games, especially knock out rounds. after all, we reached 2 finals without ronaldo, but what was missing was that killer edge (yes defense and mid aren't same as before but remeber we reached final in 2017 with a mid two of kedira and pjanic)

De Ligt is a significant improvement though. and a much needed one. Bonucci in 2017 and 2015 CL runs was really good. we missed that, and DL is a welcome addition.

regarding mid, I think we improved,. just by having a new coach, and not including the new additions..

I get your point reagarding the serie a title wins, but each of the last 4 were due to very strong perfomances by a striker in tight matches. dybala in 2015-16, higg in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018, and ronaldo in 2019. there is jsut no way we would have won the title, atleast not comfortbally if not due to their outstanding performances. expecially in 2017-2018 when napoli pushed juve till the last second. higgy saved us countless times (and one dybala last minute performance vs lazio)

regarding Sarri: agree that he has a lot to prove. however if he can make players like mertens, allan, koulibaly, hysaj, jorginho, into monsters for his napli team, he can do the same with DL, Chiellini, pjanic, Rabiot, and Costa

Liverpool, despite their luck, had a much better season in their league than Juve did in Serie A.
Only a fool would say otherwise.
