Milan transfers falling apart
By Football Italia staff
:lol::lol:

Milan’s strategy risks falling apart, as Inter have Geoffrey Kondogbia, are ahead for Giannelli Imbula and Atletico Madrid can get Jackson Martinez.

The summer began with such promise and a huge boost to their finances with the investment of Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol.

However, on Saturday all of CEO Adriano Galliani’s hard work started to crumble.

It’s reported by multiple sources that Inter have won the race to sign €35m rated Kondogbia from Monaco.

The Nerazzurri agreed terms for a five-year contract worth €4m per season and the midfielder should undergo a medical on Monday.

Sky Sport Italia also claim that Inter won’t stop here, as they are also in the lead to pick up Imbula from Olympique Marseille for €19m.

The teenager is considered the alternative to Kondogbia, but it looks as if Roberto Mancini can get hold of both players, leaving Milan empty-handed.

To make matters worse, Portuguese and Spanish papers suggest Atletico Madrid are prepared to hijack their deal for Jackson Martinez.

Porto have said they’ll sell the player to anyone who matches the €35m price-tag.

As the forward is currently in Chile on Copa America duty with Colombia, Milan have not yet been able to perform a medical.

It’s reported Atletico Madrid are ready to dive in and sign the contract without the medical, therefore pushing ahead of the hesitant Rossoneri.

As for Inter, there’s also the question of who will be sacrificed to make way for all these new midfielders? The likely candidates for an exit are Mateo Kovacic to Liverpool or Fredy Guarin to Galatasaray or Fenerbahce.
the funny thing about milan missing out on kondogbia is the fact that milan's new richest is funded by the doyen group who also hold interests in kondogbia yet they lost out :howler:

inter breaking the bank for him in fee and wages(from 4m to close to 5 because of the meelan interest). I hope they go down one way or the other.
Milan are the winner here IMO.

Kondog is a 20M talent, for some reason overhyped on this board. No 35+5M top target that makes you sell your best asset (Kova). Milan dodged a bullet

I'm a massive fan of kondogbia have been since his sevilla days, I still think we should have bought him when he had a stupidly low release clause when he was at sevilla before moving to monaco.

the wages discussed are ridiculous though
