Shaqiri is overrated, imo he's not good enough for Juve, you should be glad you didn't sign him. To me he's the type of player that is capable of the occasional moment of brilliance, but his overall play is poor.

That being said, I think he's an upgrade for Roma and therefore not a bad signing for them, their starting lineup doesn't look half bad.

lol do you have something against wingers/wide players? you said almost the same thing about alexis :p

I'm just not very fond of players that are not very intelligent:p I think Alexis has refined his game a lot though, even though he can still be too much of a ball hog sometimes and is guilty of questionable decision making.

You keep telling yourself that  We all saw how much we utilized the "rotation" system anyway last season.

The fact remains; they have strengthened, and as of yet, we haven't done shit.
haven´t done shit? so do you not rate our transfers at all or do you just not them because they aren´t 100% confirmed, yet?
because i definately agree with the second part but not at all with the first one ^^.

our main problem (in serie a :D) last year was our tremendous drop in quality when llorente or tevez were out + our shortness of CMs, especially when vidal got injured.
as of now it looks like we will get a quality striker (morata) to fill in for tevez/llorente, the long needed giaccherini replacement (pereyra), just younger, better, more talented and even more versatile.
additionally with evra we can free up asamoah for CM as well. imo all these transfers make a lot of sence and it looks like we are going for another starter (CAM?)...

i´m curious how roma´s mercato will look like in the end. selling benatia would change a lot. same goes for us with vidal of course.

This is my guess

De Sanctis

Maicon - Balanta (Basa) - Castan - Cole

Pjanic (Ucan) - Strootman - De Rossi (Radja)

Iturbe (Florenzi) - Totti/Destro - Gervinho (Carrasco)

Pretty solid team. Lots of pace and creativity.

Haven't done shit as in Morata is a bit of a question mark, Evra is getting on in age, and guys like Perreyra are nothing to get excited about. I am definitely happy that we have shed some of that hefty wage bill and sold a few unnecessary cogs in the Juventus machine, but as of yet, we haven't made that surprise splash on the mercato.

As far as I'm concerned, the most exciting player we have signed thus far is Coman.

Their midfield is great (exept Ucan because I don't know anything about him), and their attack have a really good potential, still I would not jump to conclusion and say they are great or Serie A favorites. Let's wait till the end of mercato, does anyone remember Genoa from a few years?

exactly what i think. how do you rate it?
imo, if we keep our key players our defence and midfield is far ahead of theirs... it´s hard to compare the attack because we don´t even know how we will line up exactly but i don´t see a single tevez-like player (in terms of current quality) in there. i think they would be (clearly) stronger than napoli but scudetto favourites? that´s laughable imo.

oh and btw: iturbe is utter shit, as many posters here pointed out when he was still linked with us :p ;)

i´m convinced that morata will do very well but of course there is no way to know. can´t really be worse than out of form vucinic, osvaldo, banished quagliarella or out of position giovinco ;).
evra is not young anymore but imo he showed at the WC that he is still able to perform at a quite high level if he isn´t surrounded by retards and moyes. imo a better solution than cole, who has declined quite a bit more :p.
pereyra is quality squad player so it´s normal to not get exited ^^.
we will see about the "surprise splash" :)

Far ahead of theirs (midfield)? I disagree.

I don't like Gervinho but imo that squid is pretty damn solid. To be fair last year they were behind us for almost entire season. This year they are stronger and we lost our coach. I still believe we are the favorites to win the Scudetto but they are not far off. We're going to fight with them that's for sure. If you think our defense and midfield is far, far superior then you probably think Juve winning is 99% while I don't. What's good for us is that Roma plays CL next year, that's going to help us.

yeah, i knew someone would say that. i didn´t want to use two different words for defence and midfield ;).
let´s change it to "clearly ahead" because imo there can´be a shadow of a doubt that our midfield is better. i stick to "far" concerning the defence (without benatia), though.
squad is solid, no doubt. never said anything else. i also don´t agree with them having no depth, as i read in here before. they have very good depth for the most part.

99%? not even close. i think 70% is quite stretching it tbh ^^. BUT, i´m not the one running around saying that we don´t stand a chance or that roma are "clear favourites".
i don´t want to belittle them at all but some posts in here sound like they are real and we are sampdoria...

How is it Roma appears to have more money then us? In any sense of the football business we're superior, yet when it comes to spending power/money we're behind?
