at least matri is a decent player, and there was a slight chance he could have turned into a very good signing.

martinez on the other hand. what a waste of 12 million...

Enrico Preziosi’s club will receive a fee of €11.5m for Destro’s initial 12-month loan, a further €4.5m if Roma want to make the switch permanent next year and co-ownership of promising duo Giammario Piscitella and Valerio Verre. The latter will then join Siena on loan.

With the two Giallorossi men rated at €1.5m each, the total value of the deal comes to €19m. Destro arrives at Roma after 12 goals scored last term for Siena.
Wow.

I've been just about as big a cheerleader for Destro as anyone (except Sergio), but that's a truly outlandish price.

I'd say, on the basis of one good season he's worth 10m, would have been worth signing for 12m and might have been tempted up to 14m if it involved useless youngsters, but 19m is just way too much.

Well, they got paid couple of mills for those youngsters they sent to Genoa. The right price is €13 mill.

We paid 18 mil for Matri, I'd say our guys just as bad as Roma officials in that deal.
Look at the situation we signed Matri in. Quag got injured for the rest of the season and it was the last day of the mercato...

£11m for Borini actually that equals to €14m..I'd say thats a lot actually for someone who had one ok season..Especially speaking by 'Italian' standards..

For a talented young striker, I'd say that was pretty normal. For the same striker in the England squad you'd be looking at £20m, you couldn't buy one leg for £11m.

Again i was speaking by Serie A teams' standards..Roma bought his other half for like ~€4m..Plus its his first full season in top flight football..Good decent player but not an extraordinary player by any means..

When PSG paid €13m for Veratti(who hasnt played a minute in top flight football) twas understandable since they'd be paying that amount on the basis of his potential as well..He is a legit talent..

Thats just Conjecture though, we wont know that yet.

IMO, you could get sturrudge for around £10 Million, Bent around the same, Defoe even less.

The lad at Sunderland they got from Ipswich (name escapes me), is going on loan, and the paid around £8 Million for him.

Again, im just adding balance to this whole view, that only English over-value their players. Destro & Borini are good examples, and even Varretti !!!
