Arsenal always sell their players for pretty high fees. They almost never sell for cheap IMO
The players they sold been class players so fees are higher, but they were getting better offers before they waited til the last min of playing making clear he wants to leave, where offers get gimped a bit. Been similar since Henry was sold.

15m for such a quality player, its annoying to see missed opportunities. Gems to be had in Bundesliga, Özil sold for 13m, Nuri for 11, Vidal for 10 and so on (for some reason kraut clubs are all too willing to wait til last year of contract before selling a player). Porto or Benfica sellers they aint.
Tbh, none of the players you mentioned were valued (much) higher before they were sold. Coincidence or not, they all made a name for themselves exactly in the season before they were sold abroad (which was, for all of them, the second last season of their contracts).

“After six years at Inter, the time may well have come for Maicon to change scenery,” agent Roberto Calenda told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m sure players like Lucas and Oscar are bound to be associated with Inter, but it’s not easy to negotiate with Sao Paulo. In fact, I think they’re the toughest in Brazil.”

Maicon has been on and off a lot in the past 2 seasons, might have 1 great game and 10 very average (even poor) games plus he's getting pretty old So I guess this could be the best time to cash on to him.

Rather amusing that Man Utd have felt the need to say that Kagawa hasn't been signed just to sell jerseys.

They should have sold Maicon and Milito straight after winning the CL.

They could have got a shitload of cash for a couple of 30/31 year olds who were only going to lose value.

:agree: Wasn't Mourinho going to pay €30m for Maicon at RM? I think even Moratti or someone said they regret not taking the offer.
