Just tell me how Juve play in Serie A? We are more compact but we play possession football and shift a lot of players forward. Lamela knows how to play possession football, he knows his position very well and is proven in Serie A I'd say. He can beat his man, shoot from distance, cross, cut inside and all that stuff.
We need attacking players that know how to play our style of football. We can't buy players that don't suit our needs. Giovinco is a good example of that. Insigne, Biabiany, Cerci (wanted by many here) and others too. Di Maria would be dope but we'll need to put 30m in cash at least. If there's a chance of getting Lamela for reasonable price or by including Vucinic we should do it. We need a RWF capable of doing his work. If our whole team steps up in CL he'll be fine too. It's not like he'll be our Ronaldo to carry us.
As for his defensive work: Conte made Vucinic run like crazy and he's probably one of the most lazy players in the game. Conte will make Lamela run circles like a dog there's no doubt about it.

Vučinič is not worth 15m, he's 2.5 years older than he was when we bought him and has had season full of injuries so far, 15m + Vucinic is somewhere around 20-25 not 30.
Lamela is a great talent but I'm not sure Conte would play him in a 433 together with Tevez (I guess that's his supposed role), neither are Simone Pepe. I think we might be looking for a more balanced winger.

This whole Lamela thing is classic knee jerk reactionism, its the nature of football fans these days. Your only as good as your last performance, nobody looks at ability anymore, which Lamela obviously has in abundance, he's played two very good seasons in Italy. Lamela is being played out of position, in a role that doesn't suit him, and under a manager who killed his confidence. He's 21-22 years old, so its natural that he doesn't have the maturity to deal with such a situation. Admittedly he isn't a hard worker, he's not the type of player that will track back and help out defensively, he also isn't the kind of player who is effective playing so far away from the opposition goal, he's deadly in the final third, I think he's like Messi in that regard. Imagine if Messi was playing in Tottenham, and they put him on the left or right wing in a 4-4-2 and asked him to track back all the time.
Theres no comparison between him and between average players like Townsend, Lennon and Chadli, they definitely fit Tottenham's system more though.

I remember many said the same thing about Modric when he first moved to the PL. People were calling Llorente a flop just after few months when he moved here.
Personally I'd call any player a flop when he spends 2 seasons in a row playing 30-40% of games and yet he still don't make an impact on his team.
