I also think the club is taking the home grown players rule a bit too seriously. FSG stated it wanted to build a solid domestic base of players before delving into the foreign markets. Hopefully a few of Comolli's targets get taken seriously and this romance with Stewart Downing does not continue.

On another note, it looks like Aquilani just got bumped of the bench and can look forward to a season of chalking the practice field with Poulsen and Danny P.
