We couldn't and wouldn't pay 30M. The agreement with player was there.
That stuill doesn't mean anything. You could have an agreement with the player, and i'm sure he wanted to play for Juve. That is no guarantee however, that had City swooped in at that time, he wouldn't have preferred City.

There was no reason for him to choose City over us. We could match their wage offer, we'll compete for trophies, prestige and appeal which this club have etc...

Our offer for Jovetic was max 19-20 mil + one player (Matri,Marrone,Quag..) but fiorentina wanted cash .
Yes and Della Valle said repeatedly 30M cash or no deal.

City is buying fools gold. Spent €30 million on a player who moped around and played without balls last season. He'llbe keeping Aguero's seat on the bench warm. Ljajic was a throughbred stud and finished the season strong, like Lex Steele finishes his scenes.

Stevan Jovetic has revealed he snubbed the likes of Arsenal and Juventus because Manchester City showed a greater desire to sign him.

The Montenegro forward completed his protracted €27 million move on Friday to become City’s fourth major signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Fernandinho, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo.

Arsenal had been in advanced talks with the player earlier in the summer, while Italian champions Juventus had also registered an interest before settling on the man Jovetic will replace at the Eithad Stadium, Carlos Tevez.

"Manchester City has wanted me for a long time, more than everyone else," Jovetic told the club’s official website. "They have a big project here and are always fighting for the Champions League and Premier League. This is the reason I came here.

"I also spoke with Nastasic who tells me good things about Manchester and the players and everything here. He sent me messages every week telling me to come. Now I am here and look forward to playing with him every week."
dat recruiting. Massages once a week? Damn, Nastastic was really doing some work.

Chelsea fans think they can play, I just put rooney there, whoever they get, even torres. That would never work against good teams, surely. Event the 4-2-3-1 is a stretch with those three against good teams, not enough tracking back.

regardless, whoever they get, shit they could have anyone there and it still wont work.

Im curious at what @Red thinks about that. The argument is that they did it when they won the league a while back, with Robben and Cole on the wings.
