Milan have (reportedly) agreed personal terms with Eriksen in case they free up funds for the transfer fee. They need to free up funds by selling players. The most obvious sale would be Robinho but it appears that that is out the window as Santos backed out and Milan (reportedly) have extended his deal in order to sell him next year. The other option is selling Boateng but there hasn't been much concrete interest.

As such, they are not getting Eriksen until they sell a player for a substantial amount of money. Honda will be a free agent in January - they want him now on the cheap but if that doesn't happen they'll get him on a free in 6 months.
