Apparently this one is hardworking professional compared to Taraabt, to the point Gerets apparently used him as example of how to be in his team to Taarabt who he dropped for being an asshat. But Morrocan NT must be an utter mess of a unit, consider the talent they have in current team and how much they fail.
It was the first official game for Assaidi as a starter for our NT IIRC and Gerets dropped Taarabt for him as the starting LW and then Taarabt decided to leave the NT camp and Assaidi went to have a stellar game against Algeria scoring that wonderfull and Gerets said sarcastically " i hope Taarabt watched the game that Assaidi just had ".
Like you said we have the best squad in Africa by miles, Assaidi, Taarabt, Hamdaoui, Benatia, Berrada, Bousoufa, Labyed, Kharja, Ahmadi.... But we suck as unit, maybe it's the coach maybe it's the mentality of the players as the majority of our starting eleven can't even speak arabic.

Obviously you didn't understand the discussion. We are talking about NT squads. South Africa have nothing to do in this discussion. Their league has nothing do with it either, but for the record, Egypt and Tunisia have better leagues. And also Moroccan clubs do better in the African cups. South Africa is nowhere near being the best.
