So exactly why do the clubs have to own their own stadiums? Bring in your thoughts instead of just useless words.
It should be self-evident, but if it isnt, short article highlighting basic difference:

Serie A sides need to own their own stadiums
Ian Hawkey

Another week, another row about stadiums. This time it is Lazio, in dispute with the Italian Olympic Committee about the use of Rome's Stadio Olimpico, the arena Lazio and Roma both call "home", in European competition next season.

Having missed a deadline to make a deal with the site's owners, it is possible Lazio will be playing their "home" matches in the next Europa League or Champions League at another venue.

Serie A is already featuring Cagliari's nomad show, the Sardinians playing their home fixtures in distant Trieste.

Why? Because of a row between the club and the local authority about the slow progress in building a stadium to replace the Sant'Elia. Trieste is in Italy's north-east corner, Cagliari in the south of Sardinia.

Surreal? These situations certainly are. But Italian football will be vulnerable to them as long it lags behind other major leagues in terms of stadium ownership.

Most Italian stadiums are not owned by the clubs, but leased. It is a system that is outmoded, and it is costing clubs revenue.

In the last Deloitte survey - a sort of Rich List for European football - AC Milan recorded the lowest stadium-generated revenue of any of the top 10 wealthiest clubs in Europe. Why? San Siro is not theirs.

Which club does own their own ground? Juventus, who have been the pacemakers of the title run-in, a team visibly thriving in their gleaming new arena. Others should waste no more time in following suit.

I seriously have no interest in watching Serie A anymore. I've defended that league for so long but right now it doesn't even interest me a bit. We will steamroll through that scrub league like there is no tomorrow.

Champions by Christmas break!
You wont watch next season or serie A is forever doomed?

Some pepole around here are in dire need of a cold shower. The world as we know it didn't end.
Serie A isn't going anywhere, A league with this much tradition and football culture will always remain one of the top leauges in europe, always.

Milan are allowed to have a bad season or two just like we had and might have in the future, have some prespective.
The short memory on some pepole here is simply mind-blowing, they seem to forget in what shape juventus were not long ago.

A club like Milan will alway be an elite club, long after the PSG's, Chelsea's and ManShity's of this era will fade away back to their natural place

I am not worried about the league or Meelan. this just comes a a shock to me. I consider the two for the worlds best in their position and role - it's a loss for the league. Milan will rise again and I am not saying it isnt a smart move because I understand all the aspects of this deal - all im saying is that this is a very big shock for me!!

It is shocking, but its NOT smart, in fact what they are doing is the opposite of smart, that is if they are interested in being competetive, if the interest is saving Berlusconi money, who said that exactly, he sold them because he wants to save 150m in two years, then its "smart".

Milan being broke is better for the league in the long run or worse ?

No one here had a look in milan books, 150m saved over two years is alot and may tip the balance from milan being broke in two years from now and losing those players anyway to being able to maintain a reasonable transfer bugdet in the next 3-4 years.

My point is that we just dont know and its arrogant to assume a club like milan has no idea what its doing

A strong top team is usually better for the league yes, and dont expect much of an improvement for them until they start working from ground and up. They have been 6/7th in most revenue in football for a LONG time, but still only got worse and worse financially, they are run extremely poorly. Berlu mentionning how they are saving money on decimating the team like this is just his way of spinning this to a positive (when the problem was why they gave these insane contracts to over the hill players they released this summer to begin with). Not that he has a plan to improve the club in coming years exactly.

So Tevez and Rolando to be the replacements for Ibra and Silva.

I still think they'll be a few notches below last season.

Good for them. They can get whoever they want. Won't change anything, don't scare me at all.

Hold on, can anyone explain this 150 million number Berlusconi was talking about? I know it was about money saved over two years because of the transfers, so lets break it down.

62 million from transfers (not exactly "money saved") + 2*15 million wages (I'm guessing here)= 92 million.

*I estimated their combined annual salary at 15 million.

The other 60 million come from exactly where?
